who has used this insurance for their cell phone? My daughter put her phone down on some water and the screen is messing up. I've got it in uncooked rice but wondering what I should try if (when) this doesn't work. Just tell them she lost it or bring it in?

Use a hair dryer or put it on a floor vent when the heat is on.

I'd say it was lost before I took a phone in with water damage.

Thanks, kinda what I was thinking. I know if you claim a phone was stolen alot of times they want to see a police report. If you say its lost they just take your word I guess?

It doesn't matter what happened to it when you file a claim. You can try the rice trick, it might save you the deductible. I did have one phone stolen. You call the police, file a report on the phone, and that's the end of that.

We use asurion for our work phones, and I've used it for my daughter. Always good service, so unusual for a warranty company.

Put the phone in the oven for a couple of hours on very low heat (125-140 or as low as it will go). Worked several times for us at work.

wouldn't the watermarks still show water damage?

most people don't even know the watermark is there, I sure didn't, until I took my phone in demanding a new one after I dropped it in a cup of water.
