Overlooked stat for Cam

Jackofalltrades

Watching TNF with the Iggles hosting the Bungles they kept talking about how Dalton was only the third QB to ever throw for 20 TD's in each of his first two seasons. (P Manning and Marino are the other two)

Cam's name was never mentioned despite only needing 4 more passing TD's to join that small group.

So, I'm really hoping Cam can throw for 4 more TD's over the next 3 games and add his name to yet another accomplishment so few others have achieved.

Too bad as long as its Cam the only number they'll focus on will be the W-L.

i think the next few weeks that cam could catch up with dalton.

next week they've got the TD stingy steelers and the ravens aren't exactly loose with passing TDs (even tho they're giving up the yardage.)'.

meanwhile, we've got the 25th, 27th, and 31st worst passing D' s at giving up TDs.

Records carry more value when they are accomplished while winning.

Andy and AJ got snubbed last year for what they did. They deserved more credit for being 2 rookies who pretty much took their team to the playoffs.

They are exactly the 2 guys I hoped the Panthers would have gotten. So much class in the post game interview. Very likeable guys.

Take A.J. Green away, Andy is poo. Take Smith away, Cam is still producing.

Based on what evidence or logic? Cam's not produced with Smith this year. Even after his recent great games, he's still only got 16 passing touchdowns for the season. Andy's got 21, tied for 5th in the NFL as of right now.

Cam benefits just as much from having Steve Smith as any quarterback would from an elite receiver. Go break it down and see which QB got the most yards after catch- total and per attempt- from their receivers last year. Nevermind the fact Smith's got much more experience than AJ. Andy is just a better game manager and understands the basics. You can win games with him and make the playoffs. Cam's still yet to learn that.

Marvin's bringing Andy along the right away. He let him manage the game and will let him open up this year. He's got more passing yards, more passing touchdowns, etc this year. He had an 80.4 Passer rating last year. He's a 90.3 this year. He's improved since his rookie season. Cam's regressed up until about 2 games ago, but you can't reason with Cam homers who think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

    • Nobody is saying we don't need it, just that we have bigger needs elsewhere, and that type of WR is actually something that is often found in the mid rounds, you just have to scout and evaluate properly. Here's another way of looking at why WR in the 1st shouldn't even be considered an option. Looking only at players currently on the team, what position group would you feel strongest about 4 years from now? I'm not sure there is a better answer there than WR, as you have to think T-Mac is our best player on the team in 4 years (Brown is the only current player I think there is even an argument to be made over T-Mac there), with Coker not far behind. Our OL is too old to be considered, my opinions on Bryce is well known, Hubbard will be done by then and the rest of the RB is an unknown, Off-ball LB is maybe our biggest need, we only have 1 legit safety, it's certainly not TE, and our 2nd best CB right now will be 33 by then.   Brown should still be a beast as he'll only be 31, but nobody else on the DL projects to be that good in 4 years.  Edge rusher with Phillips, Scourton, and Princely is probably the only other possible answer than WR. So yes, that fast/shifty type of WR is 100% a need of ours, but we have so many other bigger needs both in the immediate and future, that to me, taking a WR in the 1st for the 3rd year in a row and having hit on another WR in the same time frame, just makes zero sense both currently and looking into the future.
    • Laughing at Slayton (Mooney or Calvin Austin III), but telling me that Coker is the next best thing since sliced bread...You laughing at Theo Johnson in reference to our guys too? LOL No one in their right mind thinks Nabers is anything but a stud (definitely top 10 if not 5 potential). You do realize that Thomas was in a new system with a furst-time coach last year (with a questionable QB to boot)? And yet still, it's possible that he eclipses even T-mac (not saying that he will). They didn't even mention Travis Hunter. In any event, we're not in the top half. Draft another legit receiver, and we will be.
    • Absolutely, very fair assessment of the team.
