Seahawks- 2010 season; 7-9. 2011 Season; 7-9. 2012; 9-5.

Redskins- 2010 Season; 6-10. 2011 Season; 5-11. 2012 Season; 8-6

I bet fans said the exact same thing about these 2 HCs deserving to be fired after their mediocre 2nd seasons, and now look at them. If we win out and go 7-9, that will be good enough improvement to warrant another year. Lets remember that Rivera inherited a 2-14 team with Jimmy freaking Clausen.

According to many on this board we are just overflowing with talent.

So which is it? Is Rivera a terrible coach, or do we not have as much talent as people keep saying?

We string two wins together for the first time in a whole year and suddenly Rivera is a legend.

Just stop already. Let's atleast see how we play our final two games before we go full retard.

I totally agree with the first sentence- the genius of Bill Walsh now lives in Ron Rivera.... puh-leeze.

With respect to "full retard"... I'm thinking we're already there based upon way too many threads about this in the last 24 hours...

This. (sorta)

I'm ridiculously torn between keepin or firing rivera. He is by no means whatsoever a legend. He's still rather awful. But part of me thinks he could do good with *one* more year.

Then again, I'd rather have a new coach.

But I don't want a coach that's equally bad or worse....

For me it just depends on who we'd get as a replacement.

I don't think anyone's saying he's a great coach. Just that he could do well from a third year.

I agreed with the quoted post because of the people who say he "deserves" a third year.

He doesn't.

But the players love him, and I feel like we could do worse then give him a third year. As long as we're not giving up a better coach by doing so.

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
