Driving 18 hours to northern Michigan for Christmas

With the wife, our 3 year old and our 8 year old. Flying is almost impossible because of the connections so I'm going Family Truxter/National Lampoon style. I have done it twice before and by the time I arrive I feel like Louis & Clark. So, while you are chilling on your couch this weekend, I'll be paying tolls through West Virginia and Ohio, stopping in Toledo to poop, and hauling some serious ass up to ski and see the in-laws. This is how you build a strong family folks, by making your kids play license plate bingo, Punch buggy, and I Spy. Americana!

Are you staying at the UP?

I did a northern Wisconsin trip with my family at least once a year growing up. My family has a lake house about an hour south of Superior/Ashland. I fly there now to meet everybody.

Fuggin love it up there...but not in the winter haha

At least the snowmobiling is awesome.

have fun brother

i love trips like that (although we don't have kids in the equation yet). the wife and i did a trip to maine at the end of october. only stopped for three hours on the way up and didn't stop at all on the way back. good times

Post kids, even if the kids aren't with you, those trips have stops every 2 to 3 hours. Enjoy it while it lasts.

i've gotten a glimpse into this world having my FIL on some trips... he destroyed his knee a while back in a motorcycle accident and has to get out every hour or two to stretch out. makes the driving itself more tedious, but i still love the road. i have trucker blood in me

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
