What's in your liquor cabinet?

I've been given blue on a number of occasions (bottles) and some macallan 25 (by the glass) and I would take a single glass of 25 over a bottle of jwb 10 out of 10 times.

Brought my dad back some old pulteney 21 from England. It's tasty

it's the Apple of whisky. make it twice the price of comparable products and people will buy it to show off.

yeah i know it's an embarrassment but i love the stuff. back in my broke college days that's what i drank. now i can afford the macallan but in a pinch i'm ok with red label

I gave JW Black Label a shot today because the store was one of the only things open.

It's actually rather good. Not even 'for the price,' it was good overall. The only JW I'd had was red so I had extremely low expectations.

I'll still stick with single malt, but I don't regret branching out lol

JWB is regarded as a top shelf brand internationally (outside of europe of course.) that poo is far more expensive in south america and asia than it should be, even with import costs driving up the cost overall. it's marketed heavily so drinking it is considered a class symbol in a lot of ways, so i guess they can get away with it.

what's a fifth in the US? like 50-60 bucks? it's 120 for a bottle in a supermarket in quito

Are you talking about black? 750ml was 35 bucks at my store.

yes. JW Black is massively inflated in price in many places overseas, in ways that others are not. a bottle of absolut is probably 40 here (29 in NC.) Jack Daniels is 50 here (39ish in NC) but JWB... over a hundred bucks. it was just as bad in laos/cambodia.

i'm convinced it is. JW execs laughing all the way to the bank.

loads of locally-produced stuff for incredibly cheap here though, as one might expect. i'm bringing home a couple of bottles of ecuadorian spirits and liqueurs and probably a bottle of pisco as well, since i can't find it anywhere in NC.

Blue is a joke.

Best whiskey i've had the pleasure of drinking, is the Bunnhabhain 25yr.

It literally blew my mind as to good whiskey can be.

I'd take it over the 25 Mac.

Plus it's half the price of the Mac.

was at the abc store today to purchase some scotch and did some window shopping.....

Glenlivet 21 750 mil. $154.95

JW Blue 750 mil. $299.95

McCallan 25 750 mil. $899.95

McCallan 30 750 mil. $1,700.00

so.....I picked up my usual Speyburn (Bradan Orach) Highland single malt 750 mil. $19.95
