Setting aside the "Newton vs Luck" stuff...

i want us to aim higher around here. instead of 1st downs lets celebrate touchdowns. instead of getting hot for no good reason and shoot ourselves in the foot at a great draft pick, lets get a high pick because we made the playoffs.

cam is great and i don't worry about his game at all. but our team and franchise and fans need to be sick to our stomachs to see even teams like the Rams do well.

look at the Falcons. TWICE they have won the division in a couple of yrs. of course there will be those that go yeah but they lose in the playoffs. they fired BOTH cord's after last year. that tells me they are hungry and won't settle for beating their chest about how good is Ryan vs Mark Sanchez or Sam Bradford.

win and win and just win. thats all that matters.

What are we debating, who will be the bigger #1 picked bust? Because honestly Luck hasn't shown he can man the pro style offense Bruce Arians is having him run as good as he was hyped up to be able to, and the Colts are hell bent on doing so rather than letting him run a spread option style offense to take advantage of his rushing. I don't know how many times this year I watched him have an easy 5 yard run for a first down but he insists on completing this bomb down field which either is incomplete or picked off.

I think RG3 and, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say, Kirk Cousins will be better than both of them. Not sure about Wilson yet.

Now you have to look at QB's in two different ways. Elite pocket passers. And Elite spread option QB's.

I think Captain Kirk has shown he has the tools to be an elite pocket passer.

RG3 will be an elite spread option QB. If he lasts, when he turns 30-32, I think he can transition to a very accurate, pure pocket passer too. He really needs to stay healthy though.

They will separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Reading some of the comments here, I think it's funny how so many Cam supporters hate RG3 just cause he's shown he's a more lethal and efficient version of Cam and he's likely to be the black quarterback everyone will be proud of, not Cam. He really does bring out all the qualities that are wrong with Cam, doesn't he?

Panthers struck out again because Richardson didn't have the balls to pass on Cam for fear of being accused of racism after he tried to get Luck to come out by telling him he's drafting a quarterback. Ooops! He'll always be a gutless owner, imo.

their can only be one black qb american fans can proud of..............im sure alot of people like montana, elway, marino brady and manning. always got to be about being black pffl. lol

i agree that cousins does look good for the games he started makes you wonder how special rg3 is. but i think all these new qb have did awesome. shoot back in the day a rookie qb took about 3-4 years to start clicking. now we got about 4 already doing well.

anyways if people would stop bringing up the subject it would die...now of course they are always going to be compared because football is about being the best and they came out around the same time.

i also think wilson an luke deserves rookie of the year.

... the Indianapolis Colts 2012 season is a great story.

And it's one that Panther fans who remember Sam Mills and the 2003 season ought to be especially able to appreciate.

Can tell you that I don't honestly expect they'll win a playoff game, but I'll definitely be cheering for them.

If you mean in the fact that their coach is battling lukemia, yes I see your point. In all honesty, my heart goes out to him and his family. Football aside.

I agree on Wildon. Guy is playing lights out and the Hawks are spanking good teams. He deserves it, but will be snubbed.

I totally agree with you and the person you qouted.

Wilson is so over-looked because the media has made up their minds who their chosen qb is and who he's going to compete with. They will find a way of saying Wilson hasn't done enough to win OROY because they have already made up their minds who they want to win that honor.

Russel Wilson is the best QB prospect I've seen in a LONG time. I have never seen a rookie QB so poised in the pocket before, it's like a 5 year vet under center and he still has room to grow (no pun intended). I'm really happy to see him doing well in the NFL, it's just a shame that he's criminally underrated because he's playing on a team with a good defense and running game. They had both of those pieces before he even got there, but the addition of Wilson has made that team a real contender and probably the scariest team in the NFL at least, especially at home. I do think he has the capability of being the best QB in the league fairly soon, and I'm very excited to see what the future holds for him.

Luck on the other hand, is playing poorly against bad defenses and being anointed the next great QB even though he isn't playing all that well. RGIII, Wilson and Cam have all outplayed him but for some reason he gets to be the media darling. I don't get it.

Just based on stats alone, their total QBR rating is nearly identical but RG3's at 104 for the season while Wilson at 98. RG3 has not had a game with a passer rating under 72. Wilson has had 3, a 62, 35 and a 48. I think that alone should disqualify him.

RG3's been very efficiency and consistent since day 1, while Wilson is just now getting up to that level. His win over the 49ers was huge, and RG3 did get hurt, but overall I think RG3 has simply been better. Wilson's also had the much better defense.

Media may have decided it, but they're right on this one.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
