Chris Collinsworth "I voted for Bobby Wagner" for Defensive Rookie of the Year

Recommended Posts

Chris Collinsworth just made this statement during the Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings game.

I'd love to know what Bobby Wagner did that Kuechly did not...

I would pay the media to do research before opening their mouth/giving awards. As a middle linebacker, Kuechly transformed this defense into a top ten defense, on top of leading the league in tackle's.

I don't know what else he could have done.

I know Collinsworth is a moron, but how do you mess DROY up...

As pointed out, he also said Casey Hayward was his second choice.

collinsworth gets paid for that job not for having intelligent opinions, but to get fans excited about games.

gruden took his model and now does MNF. u claim that any recognizable name is one of the best you've ever seen and drool over them and nobody can get mad at you. these guys will talk up their laundry if they get paid to do it.

when collinsworth said that im sure he just put together a couple of quick things: he plays defense, he's considered pretty good, he's a rookie, he's in the playoffs so boom DROY! he didn't put any thought into the statement, it was just a simple thought tossed out to get people excited.

wagner

140 tackles

2 sacks

3 interceptions

kuechly

164 tackles

1 sack

2 interceptions

Anyone got access to a site that shows snaps played. Luke I believe racked up his numbers on a good fewer snaps/chances

I don't understand why you guys thirst for recognition from the media. American football fans are some of the most informed and dedicated fanbases in the world. When I talk to fans in other cities they know our good players. They know Kuechly, Beason, Steve, Stew, Deangelo, and Greg. Just because the media doesn't talk about us doesn't mean our good players go unnoticed. The only rewards I care about are Division, Conference, and League Championships. DROY looks nice on paper but it's also thin as paper.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
