A scenario, not a MOCK

If we take Jesse Williams at 1, Hankins would be at the bottom of my list. And in reality may be there anyway. Out of the prospects listed I would probably take Aboushi, Watkins, Hunter, Woods, Thomas, Long........... and like ten other players not limited to Warford, Watson, Jefferson, Fluker, DJ Swearinger, and Poyer.........then Hankins.

Wouldn't take Hunter with a ten foot pole. Guy lost all his explosiveness after the injury. Literally put up all his big production versus poor teams this year, struggles versus the relevant teams. (Note that I didn't even say good)

Not to mention that he has the same body as a female track runner.

Very true.

I love Hopkins and Hunter. Maybe hunter a lil more. I see Hopkins as a Torrey Smith but i Dno if he'll have instance succes like Torrey. It make take him a year or two to develop.

If I'm going for someone to quickly plug and play, I'm taking Hankins.

Hopkins is literally nothing like Torrey Smith. This is a ridiculous comparison. Nothing about the two is even similar..

I'm *eagerly* awaiting for you to point out these scouts to me.

Any Huddler who feels that way is just as misinformed as you are.

I'm not the only one that see a comparison to Torrey. Many huddlers on here and many many scouts see a comparison.

If you have Hankins vs players like Dallas Thomas, Aboushi, Kyle Long, Robert Woods, Hopkins and Hunter in the 2nd who would you take?

If Jesse Williams is the 1st round pick?

I'd gladly take Nuk Hopkins or Oday Aboushi. Aboushi has first round talent and should be able to stick at left tackle in the NFL. Nuk is in the mix between Cordarrelle Patterson & Keenan Allen & maybe Quinton Patton as the top WR in this class. Patterson/Hopkins/Patton/Allen right now for me.

dont know how combine results, injury tests, ect., will affect the final prospect list, but if the draft were tomorrow, and if we pick jesse williams in the 1st AND hankins is there in the 2nd, i say we...pick barrett jones, and then hang our heads in shame and regret because, for one, we learn gettleman is out to screw us, and secondly, we took a DT in the first and lost out on better Oline talent than whoever we pick up in the 2nd. we can then get an early start on scouting the upcoming qb class for the 2015 draft, cause once cam signs his new landmark contract with a team that will move mountains to protect their precious investment, we gonna need a qb up in here :( .

The better franshises and GMs generally draft lineman (defensive or offensive) when they pick in the top 20. They build up the foundation of the team with those higher picks. When drafting in the bottom of the 1st (meaning they made the playoffs) is when they go for the skill positions. The 2nd round is more of a toss up though.

IMO I would look to address DT in FA first and then address the O-Line in the 1st round of the draft. Remember that Gettlemsn was a pro scout mostly in NY and they have had a lot of success mixing the draft with FA.

    • And, honestly, there's only so much you can attempt to do in the draft. And every draft pick is a roll of the dice. But that's where grabbing a ton of UDFAs, and targeting the best, makes a big difference. Sure, their individual chances of getting a hit here is less, but that shotgun pattern might just hit something.  Right now, we need bulk, partly to rebuild and partly to dilute the deep level of stank that has developed on this team in the last six years. If we're going to rebuild a culture built around culture, accountability and winning, then these UDFAs we bring in each season have to be the wash water that gets out that leftover dirt.  Canales seems to be a smart, culture-first, build up the good ones kind of guy. I like that and I hope he can keep it going here. But he was working against a locker room that had been taught to lose and taught to distrust or ignore coaches. He's got his work cut out for him, still. He does seem to have it moving in the right direction and that's something I was pretty amazed with by the end of last season.
    • The most telling sign, IMO, of a team on the upward swing is who we lost in the off-season. Who left that even saw the field? Woods, Clowney, Sanders, & Hekker. OK...no big deal. Clowney is the only 1 that I raised an eyebrow over and I get that it was a money decision. No need to pay him over $7M to take snaps from our draft picks when he was just OK last year.
