Injured my foot.

Floppin

Recommended Posts

Playing flag football today. I don't know when it happened exactly, but it first started hurting about an hour after we stopped play. Now I can barely walk on it. It's extremely sore on the instep side of my arch and runs through my foot to the topside of my foot around my pinky toe.

That's probably not a very good explanation, but any amateur podiatrists out there that have any idea what I might have done to myself?

i've done that in various modes of action and it's not fun. pop some ibuprofen, any swelling will go away. you probably strained a tendon like KG said, possibly lightly sprained the joint and didn't realize it until later

rest it for a day and you'll be fine

It feels better this morning, just a little sore. It's amazing but I've never hurt my foot in all my years of sports. I played four years of three different sports through HS, boxed for 5 years and was a competitive downhill skier and big air snowboarder and instructor for 12 years. Never hurt my foot.

I did something to my foot playing tackle football a few years back. It bent under me and i heard a loud pop. I was sure i was going to look down and see bone jamming out of my shoe. It didnt hurt at the time but an hour later it was swollen and i couldnt walk. Took some ib and iced it and it went away in a few days. You, should be good.

Well I thought it was feeling better but I just walked my dogs and it definitely still hurts like a bitch. I'm sure I'll be fine, it just sucks, I've never hurt my foot. I feel like a vagina.

foot injuries are the worst. i mean there's a reason why athletes can play through tweaked ankles/knees but need a cortisone shot to play through turf toe.

i had sesamoiditis when i was a teenager (pea-sized bones in the ball of your foot get irritated and heal extremely slowly) and it was the most painful injury/condition i've ever had.

    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
