I've been thinking about The Golden Calf of Bristol's style of play somewhat. Pretty much backyard football. We all know top receivers and top offensive players would be frustrated in playing with him, so I've been thinking. What if a team decided to sign The Golden Calf of Bristol as their QB, and then put a bunch of role playing, cost efficient players around him on the offensive side of the ball. While on the defensive side of the ball, sign and draft big time stars to create a HOF defense. We've seen what The Golden Calf of Bristol do with the Broncos, but we know Fox handcuffed The Golden Calf of Bristol for most of the games he played. Rex Ryan handcuffed The Golden Calf of Bristol even more. Yet I imagine what The Golden Calf of Bristol can do if you just let him go, and do his thing from start to finish?

So what do you guys think about that? A cost efficient offense with The Golden Calf of Bristol as the main weapon, and spending all your money and effort on defense. Could that project work?

If the goal of that project is to create the most inept offense in the NFL, then yeah, I'm sure it would be wildly successful. This isn't college. Timmy was a great college QB, but in the NFL? Not so much. There was a reason he was let go in Denver, there was a reason Rex passed over him for the '3rd string' QB when The Golden Calf of Bristol was technically supposed to be right behind Sanchez in the depth charts, and there was also a reason many of his teammates alluded to the fact that Sanchez gave them a better chance to win, despite how bad Sanchez was.

So The Golden Calf of Bristol with a patchwork offense that you spend peanuts on? Yeah, "let him go"... let him go and killed that is. I'm not saying he can't eventually improve to be an NFL-caliber QB (we haven't really seen him play since his media-frenzy time in Denver, so idk), but at the moment, no... just... no.

I suppose a cost efficient offense wouldn't mean we drag guys off the street to play $100 bucks a game, but not big money contracts you would pay a Megatron/Fitz/and top O-lineman. (Of course I don't know if O-lineman complain that much about playing with The Golden Calf of Bristol) Of course all of this is just in good fun. (Of course I'm on record in wanting see if The Golden Calf of Bristol could succeed long term playing backyard football)

I actually would like to see The Golden Calf of Bristol join Chip Kelly in Philadelphia. His offense is about as good as it gets for a guy like The Golden Calf of Bristol. Always taking snaps out of the shotgun, he can run the ball in Kelly's offense, and runs the spread option.

Instead, what if a team decide to draft a player faster and more accurate than The Golden Calf of Bristol and build a superbowl team around him: KAEPERNICK/CAM/RG3/WILSON/LUCK and more to come. The Golden Calf of Bristol will be a good, bitter college football analyst. Leave it as that. Enough of all those The Golden Calf of Bristol opportunities.

In one season with a team that couldn't produce first downs with kyle orton, has around 8 4th quarter comebacks. some of which were double digit. Wins an overtime playoff game against the heavily favored steelers. only to face the pats with jon foxs stagnent keep the ball away from brady strategy. thats what it means to "let him go". If the broncs would have tried to shootout with the pats like they did the steelers they coulda won that game. But just like the rest of tebows opportunities he was stiffled by old farts that hate to be wrong. i disagree with a low cost offense. Give him percy harvin speed on the field with a good o-line and he'll make your rbs look good. ask mcgahee

Problem with The Golden Calf of Bristol is, if your team is behind in the game by a couple TD's, it is just too hard to catch up.

Sure, if the defense was stacked, the game would be competitive. But a The Golden Calf of Bristol based offense just makes me cringe to think about. 5 TE sets??

      To start with, you wouldn’t want to count up that value chart. You would see quickly where that is headed. But you basically did a quantity comparison, while ignoring quality.  I am looking at 2023 as the start, because it became all about Bryce.  2023 you have 4 picks plus DJ Moore for offense vs 2 (80 and 145) for defense.  2024 you got the 1st overall, the 32, the 46 and the 101 for offense vs 72, 157, 200 and 240 for defense. Leave the FA IOL out of it. Which was a crazy big  investment. But it wasn’t draft.  Anyway, that is basically 4 top 100 picks for offense and 4 picks for defense in 2024. Except they were 2 first rounders, the second rounder, and the 4th was really high at 101. Vs 72 and day three stuff. Please….  Second quoted/bolded… See you think we hate Bryce. That isn’t it at all. It is nice easy way to characterize us and discredit our talking points though.   Me, I do mostly hate watching him play. But I don’t hate the person. I hate the hell out of the stanning.  It started with the very first question I asked about his footwork, arm strength, and size. Height being the principle objection. I never even got to the durability factor. There was plenty without factoring that in.  But there was rabid opposition to even asking the question of what a couple of small fractions of a second extra closing time would do for the defenders.  What the extra time it takes to flip the hips would do vs a pass rush or on the other end after the ball is in the air. Split second more for recognition where it is going for the DBs.  The tippy toe backpedal.  That poo was a mess and it has always been mess but no Bryce fan wanted to hear it. “Go get another team to root for”. “It worked in the SEC it will be fine in the NFL you don’t know football you are just a hater”.  It got worse when the real games started. It has never stopped. It is nice that many people have left that train so there is less abuse but it hasn’t stopped.  So whatever…

      Whatever school you attended, I don't know and I don't care, but I would suggest demanding a refund.    Something was completely missed there.

      The draft capital since since 2023 has in no way been pretty even.  Especially when you zero in on day 1 and day 2 draft picks.  Draft capital has vastly gone toward the O over D.
