Second City Mock - Updated 3-21-13

Ok, lets look at a scenario for a second we've just drafted a NT with the first and the second round approaches. On one hand you have a great offensive guard that has lasted to the Panthers spot (protect your franchise QB) in the other you have Xavier Rhodes who are you taking?

I seriously doubt we'll have money to bring in a serious vet FA

I'd rather get a mid level vet RG instead of adding another young Guard on the line going thru the same thing we did this year. If we get a vet on at RG he can help Bell while he develops. And Gross and Kali can keep working with Amini .

True, but we'd have to make cap space with that.. Cap space we could resign Dwan or Munnerlyn with

To be honest this whole season is a clusterfug.. By March this time I might change my mind and say we will draft a CB in the 1st or 2nd round really it's too early to tell IMO lol

First and foremost, the trade down is lopsided toward the Colts by 156 points (#14:1100, #24, 88 and 120: 944). It would make much more sense if we traded down with them to get their 1st and 2nd (1080 total value).

As to you picks, I really like them except the first. I'm not much of a fan of Jenkins, but I wouldn't argue he has potential to be better than I've seen of him. If your mock was the way it played out, I'd be very happy overall and satisfied enough with Jenkins. Patton could very well go higher than the 3rd, but if we made a fair trade and got their 2nd instead of 3rd and 4th, that wouldn't be an issue.

In a fair trade we'd have #24 overall, two 2nds, a 4th, etc. Modifying your draft picks that are affected by that, I'd take Patton (or Hunter or one of the other high potential 2nd round WRs) with our 2nd, with the second 2nd take Bacarri Rambo, and pick up an OG in the 4th. Or we could go with an OG/OT with the second 2nd and get Jefferson like you said in the 4th but I like Rambo a lot more than Jefferson and probably more than most of the OG/OTs that'll probably be there at #24 in the 2nd.

Good mock though, I'd be very happy with that haul.
