BigSkye what are you even doing.

LaFell isn't a bad receiver and completely basing him mindlessly is just really ignorant.

His biggest problem is getting separation but when he's open he has nice, soft hands and some YAC ability. A very strong #3 WR.

i know. im just messing around with luke cause he loves lafell. lol

lafell is decent...but kooluke think he is a no 1 or 2 wr. and i diasagree with him. he thinks panthers dont need another wr. i disagree.

if i was a gm...i would NOT cut lafell he is just not a no 1 wr. that is all.

They were coming off a Superbowl and had later round picks. Not the same situation. If a top level OT would have drop to them they would have taken them I promise.

Do you honestly see a top level OT falling to us? Hell even Warmack could be gone before 14.

CB is our biggest need and Milliner and Banks are also likely gone off the board before we pick.

So then it becomes a question of BPA at DT and WR.

Because honestly I've been on the OL/WR bandwagon for the first two rounds for a while now and sign a FA CB because it's rare a rookie corner comes in and just plays above average and

We have so little at corner.

I really like the OP's post. Pied. We need more well thought out posts like that on the huddle, not just one-liners full of fuzzy logic and fallacious appeals to emotion. I really like Keenan Allen's game, purely on talent, he's up there with AJ Green, Julio etc. He's coming off a knee injury though, and we all know how much it sucks for your 1st round picks to be on the bench because they can't stay healthy.

Derek Cox is one that comes to mind. Local guy, plays really well when he's healthy but, he's missed 17 games over the last 4 seasons. But his despite his health concerns when he's healthy he is a really solid cornerback.

Cary Williams, E.J. Biggers, Chris Houston are also possibilities.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would be nice if e could be had at a decent price.

Unrelated ot CB but I really want us to give Gleen Dorsey a shot he's a good run-stopper and I tink he'd do much better as a 4-3 DT.

What's real funny I like the 2nd round rated wr more then the 1st round guys.

And the WR that seem to offer what you guys are looking for the best is Justin Hunter from UT.

Big 6'4 fast long legs and stride wr that gets seperation and a real deep threat that can climb the latter when making a jump ball catch. He can take a short route to the house is a big play threat. He has the college production 73 rec. 1083 yards and 9 td. (better then patterson's #). And he actually runs more then 3 routes.

I like him better then the guys you are stuck on.

Now I won't have a problem if we look at him in the 2nd round. I know he's had a injury but so has Allen and you want to use a 1st round pick on him.

This is what a wr with number #1 potential looks like. This is a deep threat that can also run slants, comebacks and crossing routes.

The fact you're not talking about him makes me question your opinions.

Yes let's keep comparing a team who hasn't made the playoff on 4 years to Superbowl contenders.

or lets compare their depth at WR to this teams.lets compare how they had talent their already but yet they brought in more help to that position.it is a passing league, and you need to have multiple weapons to catch the ball.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
