  1. 1. Perfect world; Position you'd address in round round 1

Im in awe how many people want WR

WR is the last position you want in this draft, in the first. Yeah we are in desperate need of a WR but that's when you make mistakes is when you are desperate. Lets protect our franchise QB and get the best O Lineman available

I bet in the perfect world if Megatron was there at 14 you would be all over it

Who exactly are these instant impact wide receivers in this draft? I hate to tell you but there are no Julio Jones in this draft. The only guy who is projected to even be worth a pick at number 14 is Patterson. Everyone else is a reach and not an impact player this year. You can find similar talent in the second round to what you can find in the first round for the most part. There are much better positions to draft at 14 than a wide receiver this year.

patterson is really the only WR i am excited about at #14. beyond that are WRs i'd be content with drafting 2nd round.

if it's not patterson i'd go vaccaro or one of the top DTs or OL, preferably OL because solid DT journeymen are easy to come by. there's not really any CBs i'm loving at #14 and i feel good enough about the guys we have right now even without gamble largely because of the front 7 and if we have an upgrade at either safety spot (by picking up a FS or moving godfrey to FS and picking up another SS) then i feel even better.

i can't imagine us losing both gamble and capt. i just don't think it's going to happen. CB is a concern, but not one of the top couple, imo.

But you neglected to mention that even thoe there isn't a can't miss prospect at 14 (unless Star, Floyd, or Fisher drops). There are a few DT's that put up similar numbers to Highly drafted player in other years at that position. Like Richardson who put up numbers (special TFL) like Dairus and Cox. There is a safety that definitely fits a need on this team who could be available.

Good points. Everyone pretty much agreed that Julio Jones was going to be a stud in the league which is why Atlanta gave up so much. There are not any dominant wide receivers like that this year and many are projected as first or potential second rounders. On the other hand there are three OTs that are projected to be plug and play instant impact players. And there are a couple NTs as well in Lotulelei, Hankins or even Jenkins who will be plug and play guys as well.

As for CB, if Milliner is there, it is a no brainer. If not then Rhodes or Trufant would be good picks.

I'm not sold as much as you are on them yet. They did get lit up by Brady f'n Quinn and Bress almost had 450 yards passing against them. But even with that where is the depth behind them if we don't get anybody?

Keep in mind that Thomas and Dockery were starting for the first time this year. Most players make their biggest leap after getting some game experience. As for depth I imagine we will pick up some folks, right now though we have Norman and Ness. Lets remember that Thomas was claimed off of waivers from Dallas in September of 2011.

I know lots of folks like Allen but he is still injured and won't even run at the combine. Given he missed some games it is hard to know what he brings. He runs in the 4.5/4.6 range so he is not a blazer and reminds me of another Pac 12 receiver we drafted in the second a few years ago. Patterson is not as polished but he is quicker and has played against better competition. With a great combine he could be one to rocket into the top 10 or with a bad one drop down to the bottom of the first.

I would be okay with not going with a CB at 14. I think the pick will be a linemen this year unless someone falls unexpectedly at another position.

    • I think you should see the OP for pretty big reasons why that is a completely incorrect take given this is a Dave Canales team.
    • TMac is a good player and would've been the right pick if our QB could throw a ball farther than 40 yards. For this team's current build (run first, game management passing attack) and the fact that our TE's are laughably bad - the five on our roster have combined for less than 600 yards total, with 3 TDs - Warren should've been the pick.
    • If anyone feels like they can't have a conversation about Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career maybe assess why and how these conversations end this way instead of looking to shoot the messenger. Why is it okay to label anyone else on the team or coaching staff trash? Folks on the huddle and across the fanbase on social media have fully thrown anyone and everyone including rookie 8th overall pick TMac fully under the bus multiple times this season. But some of you guys apparently expect a pat on the back because Bryce Young successfully evaded a few potential sacks while Tyler Shough got consumed by our pass rush throughout the game and still had a superior performance. The state of this division is hilariously mediocre at best. Bryce Young is the only player on this roster who is allowed to have the lowest bar possible yet we have invested the most resources in him. It's lunacy.
