Addressing the kicker position through free agency

We supposedly have two comp picks in the 6th, I wouldn't mind it if they were spent on a K and a P.

Where did you see we got two comps? Especially in the 6th?

I assume if we get a comp pick at all, it'll be for Dan Connor, and it won't be more than a 7th.

I'm at work now on my phone, when I get home I'll look it up but predicted comp picks came out a few weeks ago. There was discussion of it here. Nothing's official yet, that's why I said supposedly.

Gano was fine. I don't understand the reasoning behind the hate for him. There really is no reason for it. Any of the FA kickers are about on the same level if not less than Gano.

I know he had a few small blunders but the guy got picked up off the street. He is relatively young (younger than Medlock ) and he has a strong leg. This offseason should help cure the ( extra point snafu) or long field goal shank ...

Remember, comp picks aren't awarded based on fan's opinions of players. They're awarded based on contract with the new team, playing time and I think accolades earned.

Yeah, I see that, and I know that's how it works. But, I'm almost positive that it's when a player leaves to sign with another team in free agency. Wharton was released. I'm fairly certain that cancels out the comp pick.

Yea, good point. I had forgotten that Wharton was released. Regardless, we'll be finding out soonish about comp picks and I wouldn't be upset if our last two picks were spent on a P and a K :)

Just from a stat standpoint Gano was closer to the bottom of the league. But his misses were 54 and 48.

True, however his 3rd miss was from the 10 yard line on an extra point.
