Chiefs tag Albert, what to do with first pick?

They will have to go defense with the first pick. I don't think anyone is willing to trade down, because no one is worth trading down for. I imagine if they run a 3-4 defense and Jarvis Jones have a great pro day (and he checks out medically), Jarvis Jones will be the first pick. If not, then Dee Milliner perhaps.

I think trading down is a definite possibility. But if they hold on to the pick I think it will be Dee Milliner, Star Lotulelei, if healthy, or Shariff Floyd.

They already have to young guards that are pretty solid in Jeff Allen and Jon Asamoah, so I don't think Warmack is in play.

As I said in another thread,

1. Cut Tyson Jackson. He has a MONSTER contract, one that he hasn't really earned.

2. Draft Shariff FLoyd.

3. Go fill some needs in FA. They'll have a lot more money to work with once they cut Jackson.

    • BPA in draft all the way. Address your biggest needs in free agency.
    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
