Do you see the Giants making a big splash on day one?

That's the school he came to us from.

No, nor did I really expect it honestly. I was just hoping more than expecting. I'm beginning to think that any GM here is just a puppet anyways. It seems to me that JR is pulling all the strings. I don't know bro, I really don't.

What I do know is that the NFC used to be known as the "easy conference" with no true perennial power, it was always up for grabs. After about 24 hrs I've seen 2 teams in the NFC get exponentially more Dangerous. (Seahawks & 49ers) there's a team in our own division (Bucs) that are trying to create quite possibly the best secondary in the League (if they land both Goldson and Revis)

ALL of this of course looks great on paper, games obviously need to be played but still....

Then you have us. Not a lot of depth at O-Line whatsoever. Now we have glaring holes at LB and CB, not to mention our need at DT... And all you ever read on this board is "we need a WR"..... REALLY????? What we need to do is stop drafting buster ass WR's in middle rounds and instead quality depth at O-line, then go out there and grab a proven young vet to help out our STABLE of young WR's and Smitty.

What was a top 10 D ending the season <------(depending on what stats you think matter) we are heading into the draft worse off than b4 FA began.

I know this will likely get dissected, so go ahead and stone me to death.

I realize we have holes to fill, and I would rather have veterans than rookies, but Gettleman is working with what he has. We will sign some FA in the next day or so, my guess is our own. Personally I am kinda glad we haven't sold what's left of the farm for a 8 year Veteran with two knee braces.

I have come to the conclusion that we are purging this year. We don't have the money to make us exponentially more dangerous. Gettleman isn't some puppet, hes made significant changes that I dont know if Marty would have done, maybe. We've got a mess on our hands, we gotta clean it up.

I've seen nothing that makes me think Richardson is manipulating Gettleman.

We have minimal cap space (even less once Anderson is signed) and a GM whose experience has been with a team that made slow, measured, wise decisions in free agency rather than jumping in at whatever big name was out there.

And, worth remembering, that team has two rings in the last five years.

Truthfully, there was no reason to expect big news today.

It's simple. The best teams in the league make calculated decisions and build through the draft with FA strategically.

The raging animals on this board starved for news cannot be convinced otherwise.

Not that I'm surprised at this point, because I'm really not... BUT I thought that this Gettleman guy would come in here and try and make a splash even with the lack of cap space available. I just figured he'd want to come in here and show the fans that "Hurney Magic" was gone forever.

Instead, now we're without 3 starters on defense... Edwards, J. Anderson, and Gamble. I feel like I'm missing somebody else too.

On a team where we needed pieces to get better, all I'm seeing is subtraction. No addition. I'm no mathematician but this doesn't seem like an equation for success.

5-6 Starters, both Edwards, Gamble, Munnerlyn(nickle is really a starter in this league), Anderson, and Martin started for Naka before the season was over.

Not to take anything away from those guys up in New York because they are in fact Champs... But let's not forget, that if not for 2 miracle catches, one in each win... They wouldn't be champs at all. Lets not get ahead of ourselves... It's not like their Super Bowl wins were dominant.

But then again, that's how this game is, a play here or there and you're a champ. Just look at Baltimore this passed season. If not for a miracle against Denver, they're not even in the Super Bowl at all
