I pre ordered mine for the 360 kind of concerned this game might not be that good...The price is $49,99 and that's not a good sign,...I was debating waiting on some real reviews before buying and picking it up later for $20

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Dated For March

Written Thursday, January 10, 2013 By Richard Walker View author's profile

Activision has confirmed a launch date for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, Terminal Reality's first-person shooter based upon the hit AMC TV series. It'll be coming in late March.

Starring crossbow-toting badass Daryl Dixon as the lead protagonist, travelling with his brother Merle, played by Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker respectively, Survival Instinct is a prequel story to the TV show that sees you managing your resources as you fight walkers and strive to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Some rather shonky gameplay footage emerged for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct recently, which according to developer Terminal Reality is "old footage".

"It caught us off guard. It was a fan trailer cut together from another interview I had done," Terminal Reality's Glenn Gamble told Eurogamer. "The game looks incredible. It was old footage. It's what we had at the time. We've made big strides since then."

See if you think it's improved in the five new screenshots below. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is out on March 26th, 2013 in North America and March 29th, 2013 in Europe.

I'm debating it. The game was supposed to come out this fall but for some reason it was pushed up to now. It's also concerning that they're currently selling the game for $40 and NO game does that when it's first released. Especially not a game for a franchise as popular as Walking Dead is right now. Besides that, from everything I've seen it looks like a cheap version of Left 4 Dead featuring Walking Dead characters. I'll probably read reviews and then pick it up eventually if it's decent. But since they've already dropped the price to $40 before it has even been released I'm honestly expecting it to be awful.

It should be noted that they may be dropping the price so low to have it compete with Gears of War: Judgement and Bioshock: Infinite that are both releasing within a week of Walking Dead, but I doubt that very seriously.

From what I've seen (watching videos on youtube), everything is inconsistent. One minute, you're thinking "this is how Daryl and Merle act and speak". The next, you're like "ok, this is poo". Lots of little bugs that can be overlooked. It is VERY repetitive. Pretty much drive (which you sit through, sometimes with dialogue) and occasionally, depending on the route you choose, you stop to scavenge a town. You pick up people on the way, and can assign them to look for specific supplies when you reach towns, or tell them to sit in the car. You give them weapons, etc. to work with when those situations come up. Story is "meh", but there are some interesting tidbits here and there that sort of help clear up the story behind how Daryl and Merle were at the start of the outbreak.

Worth $50? Hell no. Gamefly it, if anything. Or wait until it drops to being a $10 game (I'm sure it will at some point).

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
