Underground isn't the right term for macklemore lol...just because he wasn't known yet doesn't mean he is underground lol...but you don't get that because you don't listen to anything that isn't mainstream...

You just looked up all of those names, you have no knowledge, respect, or taste for any underground rappers that don't even want to be famous, especially if you think Macklemore is one of those guys.

Do some research, stay away from the mainstream for a while, maybe it will humble you and you'll actually have a newfound understanding of the genre.

Lol I looked up those guys... You've seen me go on and on about how Ea is my favorite rapper, and I could take screenshots of my iTunes showing you how many listens some of the other dude's have.

People actually bag on me for how much underground I listen to, calling me "hipster" and sh*t.

Besides, how would I just be able to look up some of those guys? Like DeLaZoo, Prince Ea, Dymez, etc all have like 5-15k followers on Twitter, Youtube, etc. Obviously nothing you could just randomly stumble across and toss onto a list "pretending" to know what I'm talking about.

I could go all day, just a couple guys that have been around a while like Brother Ali, Slug, Aesop Rock, Apathy, John Conner, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Cunnin Lynguist, Nipsey Hussle, Pharaohe Monch (except he's gotten pretty big).

Ok i thought you were talking about people so Underground that i would have no idea the names. I know all those people, all very fuging good.

If you want true poetry, simply listen to Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninoff or Bach or Beethoven. If you want unearned stylized rhythmic egocentric expression then I suppose rap is for you.

True, but my whole point is to let casual music fans know that HIP-HOP RAP is POETRY....just in a stylized manner or delivery over a beat.

Pop rap on the other hand is what you explained, but somehow most people can't seem to grasp that pop rap does not automatically equal hip hop.

I'm tired of seeing hip hop deemed as violent, ignorant and stupid bragging, or as some would say retards attempting poetry. lol

Hip Hop is totally different, yeah it's more for the younger crowd, but its always conscious, thoughtful and POSITIVE to reach out to minds that are asleep.

If anyone needs a more popular reference check out Common.

Everything is subjective. I think Bach, Beethoven and his ilk are trash. BigSyke has spent the entire thread trying to prove to close minded supremacists like yourself that there is a difference between rap and hip hop and not all rap and hip hop is 'egocentric expression' as you put it. If you don't like something fine; I get tired of people going on and on about how 'rap takes no skill and is not art' etc. Art is defined in the eye of the beholder. I think country sucks a giant phallus and it all sounds like a bunch of rednecks whining about how they want to bang their sister. Metal sounds like satan worship to me. Rock has become watered down and irrelevant. Dubstep is my preferred music, but I digress. Art is defined in the eye of the beholder. If you don't like it, gtfo and stop with the superior attitude.

I'm gonna pretend i didn't read that, cause everything else is spot on.

I don't know a whole lot about a whole lot, but I can say for absolute fuging certain that today is not the golden age of rap. It's not even the silver age. It didnt even medal, or even pass the regional qualifiers to get to the big tourney.

I know absolutely nothing about rap. And I was not sure why I was even reading the thread. Until I came across this gem.

This actually made me laugh. Thank you kind sir.

I was actually listening to some rap today. It was coming out of a Jeep two blocks away. Bada bing.

    • Best I heard its a clause the bungals want to add. It prevents them form paying the full guaranteed amount if triggered. No one knows the details of the clause, but guesses are it relates to off-field stuff. Stewart is in the right here. Before they signed burrow, chase, and Higgins they were the cheapest team in the league bar none. Unlike tepper or jarrah Jones or any other NFL ownership, all Mike brown owns is the beagals. Every other owner has many other money making businesses, not bungals.  I still remember when Brenston Bunker was starting on WFNZ and he told the story about the beagals telling him to pick a used cup form a huge pile, LOLS! They been on hard knocks and I remember Marvin lewis telling the players not to take home Gatorade bottles........* but in that case, I believe some players were taking a back pack and filling it up with drinks. Still you make millions(around 200million) in net profit and Im sure coke gave the team those bottles, still... Its a 32 team billion business, someone has to the cheapest.....Panthers were around the next cheapest team before tepper bought them and he has POURED millions upon millions into the team. He bought a bubble that Richardson never would, so the team had to gather in building during the rain. He spent millions on coofus machines that he just gave away like the bubble. Tepper made that AC trailer a thing. I've trashed him about his concerts and taking away end zone seats from fans. But the guy will spend money any way to efforts to better the team, dang I just remembered the deal he gave Rhule- more than Andy Reid at the time.  I know results have not came, but Id 100% take Tepper over Mike brown as a owner.
    • There's no way they're shipping you some uniform you haven't seen lol.  I feel like they'd just refund you and ask if you wanted the new one when it launched. Probably just making the blues the primary, or a new helmet for a new alternate/variation.
    • Man even after 5-12 seasons they are able to produce hype videos.
