Gettis primed to emerge as top tier WR, per sources

We also haven't drafted any other position. Do you take this to mean we have supreme confidence in Geoff Hangartner and Haruki Nakamura? Or that Short and Star were the best players available at a position of need when our picks came up?

I know...I was just trolling you.

I expect nothing from Gettis at this point. But, his size and speed still makes me want to root for him. It will be one of the top things I want to see in TC.

Well we did keep Naka out there, and signed him to an extension. They obviously have some kind of confidence in him.

We worked out a ton of WRs and added two via free agency. I don't think there's a ton of faith in anyone outside of Smitty and LaFell.

Gettlemania did say they filled enough holes in FA to go BPA. And since we didn't add anything DLine besides Dwan coming back, and no OL, we could see OL tomorrow. We brought in two WR, have Gettis coming back, so it's more than suitable. TE possible too really late, depending on where their ratings lie. But I expect no WR in this draft, and that amounts to a lot of butthurts.

I doubt this. We have guys like Joe Adams, Pilares, and Armanti. He's worth keeping around just for potential. Plus, like OP said, if Panthers are sold on his rehab and have this much confidence in him, it may work out.

Please refrain from mentioning that we have Armanti on our roster in future posts.

Although true at the moment, it is not pleasant for anyone to hear, puts a damper on everyone's hopes as this year's draft progresses and will not be true when the season starts.

I think it's time we all just let it go.

We have holes all over our secondary and offensive line....he hasn't addressed those.

Both are pretty big holes....regardless of pass rush and who your QB is...in a passing league

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
