How dumb of a pick would have Gettleman made if Star didn't fall into his lap?

Oh no how dare we draft players that instantly improve our decade long dogshit special teams and provide flexibility in purging ourselves of our dogshit contracts we doled out to Beason and our RBs.

I take anything the media says about the draft with a grain of salt, but this year they were off by exceptional margins. They weren't close with their assessments on anything outside of the 5 big linemen going early and Dion Jordan.

Our 5th and 6th round picks probably saved us about 15-18 million in cap space a year after this year.

This. DeAngelo is gone after next year (hell maybe even this year) and Davis and/or Beason won't be around after next year either. Can't count on either of them to start 16 games either so that LB depth is really important. Beason and Williams are both on massive Hurney contracts so expect them to be gone sooner than later.

Beyond short and star, no on will see the field beyond special teams and you think thats a great draft lmao.

Nope. Kug will be starting day 1.

Even if it wasn't the case have you seen our special teams over the past decade? We'd win a lot more games if they could even be considered average.

So you are telling me our 1st and 2nd round picks will see the field and our 4 - 6 rounders probably will not or just contribute in special teams.....

I think almost every football team who doesn't suck ass will probably say the same thing.

we didnt draft a running back. we drafted a special teams and slot receiver. (he has good hands and runs 4.3s)

LB pick is great for depth and 4-4 packages, im still thinking we trade stewart for WR talent, but now with the NFC South stacking up on DB's, im thinking we are a running team in 2013-14

    • Well there goes the bullied victim spiel.
    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
