Same thing we've heard so many times before. Goodson, Armanti, Pilares, Joe Adams. Never works bruv!!

Goodson was a quality back IMO.

Armanti was a stupid hurney project.

I'm surprised pilares hasn't done more.

Joe Adams was supposed to be a decent fourth rounder but turned into a fumble machine.

None are as fast as this guy.

Barner will make the 53 over Poole and Smith. He brings an element they don't. He's got better hands. More likely a better return option than either. Maybe more than anyone outside of Ginn, whos on a 1 year deal. He provides a more reliable weapon out of the option. And capable of playing the slot more effectively than any RB on the team. So tell us why he won't make the 53?

BTW, put him on the PS and he's as good as gone.

This. I also think Lester makes the 53 as a S and STeamer.

no doubt barner is on the 53.

the guy has just too much talent. i don't see him necessarily being a starter unless he really improves his pass protection skills or converts to WR, but he'll most certainly get significant usage...at the very least on special teams. as I've said elsewhere, he's better suited for read option plays than williams. i think he's a guy who can be used much like sproles. super fast scat back whose also a really good receiver.

What do you think about Lester? I think he makes 53.

The guy ran a 4.5. yes it was faster at his proday because those are hand timed. everyone runs faster at there proday. Stop with the homerisms. He is in no way tayvon or percy, the guy runs pretty stiff from what i've seen.

He was laser timed at 4.42, hand timed at 4.38.  I have some hopes for him turning into a playmaker.

i think he does as well. we've got a problem at safety, tho. we've got 3 SS that i think make the roster, but only one FS, godfrey. it's kind of unbalanced right now. I'm hoping that one or two CBs can handle the FS job when godfrey isn't on the field or if he misses time.

and the problem wasn't the speed, it was the technique and form getting started. very unnatural way to start off and doesn't at all replicate on field starting and stopping.

Hasn't the whole arguement been that 40 time doesn't mean as much as production?  The guy is in the 4.4 range regardless and ran for nearly 1800 yards and 21 TDs in a spread offense.  That is amazing production.   If the value of running backs in the last few years hadn't been at rock bottom, he would have easily been a 2nd or 3rd round pick at worst.  He's argueably better then Lamichael James that the 49ers picked up in the 2nd last year.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
