The Panthers contacted Charles Woodson's agent...HOWEVER

Kerry Rhodes is 31 but really played well last year

I have nothing against a person living whatever life they wish to, but I think teams are staying away from Rhodes due to the "gay" rumors. He's a solid safety, but I wonder if teams think a 31 year old that could be in the media quite a bit wouldn't be worth the potential headaches.

I don't give a damn about his sexual preference. If he would come cheap and provide an upgrade, bring him on.

Do professional ball players really have that Machismo attitude? I don't get how teams will stay away from a player just bc he's gay? People really just need to grow the hell up. I want to think that grown men can live past that. I don't know how any mature man can let that kind of issue affect a locker room.

No kidding, who cares if he is gay. If he is talented and cheap, bring him on.  I could see JR and Gettleman being a little hesitant because of the media circus that it could bring to the team if he ever came "out".  Could be distracting in a way like The Golden Calf of Bristol for a few weeks.

You would think people would have grown up enough to accept people for who they are, but I can't really speak from a players perspective. I'm sure opposing players would try to use it to get into the person's head though it is sad that people still don't accept someone's choice that doesn't hurt them.

I dont think it would be anywhere near bringing in Te-bow. Most people are open minded and rather stay away from such topic. There was no media attention with Rhodes ever at NYJ or Ariz.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
    • Inappropriate relationship with a team staffer, followed up with some stalking behavior, and ultimately a felony home invasion charge from a visit at her apartment that culminated in him threatening her life and his as well.
