OTAs Start Tomorrow for the Carolina Panthers

Recommended Posts

The Carolina Panthers begin their organized team activities tomorrow. Obviously I won't be able to attend but are these open to the public? If not, is anyone able to get down to the practice facilities to find a view of the field and take some notes and report back?

Keep in mind there is no contact allowed during this time.

Things to watch in OTAs:

How well our rookies are able to adapt to the speed of the game and pick up new concepts?

How some of our injured players from the previous season look. Are the held out of certain drills and working on their own to rehab? Are they running around and looking active?

Are the new additions at receiver, Ginn and Hixon in particular, developing some rapport with Cam? How does Joe Adams seem to be developing? Are Nelson Rosario and/or Lamont Bryant sleepers to make the squad and produce?

Which cornerbacks are making the most of their opportunities to earn the starting nod?

Have Cam's mechanics and accuracy improved from the previous year? Is he more consistent?

Are there new looks being installed by new offensive coordinator Mike Shula?

Obviously it is pretty difficult to really answer these questions in OTAs when teams are just getting back together and aren't in pads. However, I think it should be possible to see who flashes and at least looks the part. One should be able to gauge who is separating themselves from the pack throughout OTAs and possibly gaining the coaches support.

Zod isn't the public, he's a credentialed member of the media. Also, the OP asked if it was open to the public, thus my response.

I know that, don't worry :P. Just hoping he an get us an awesome recap like he did with mini camps that's all.

It was closed to the public. I hung out outside of the gates couldn't see much. But for what it's worth, Beason came out about 20 minutes behind the rest of the team, drenched in sweat and still signed autographs for the five fans that showed up.  Star has the most massive arms I have ever seen, really quiet and humble as well.  Brandon Williams  is huge and ripped up like no other...

not much but figured I would share.

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pats win it all or at least get there. Maye is awesome.
    • Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
