Quitting Smoking tomorrow after 6 years.

Smokers, in general, are nasty and inconsiderate.

You sound like a born again breather

^ Oh, you're one of those "It's OUR air too SIR" kind of people....

But haven't smoked all day. Feel good besides sudden urges to punch people in the face.

Yeah, and I had class tonight...

Your 94 yr old grandmother is a rare exception, and I'm sure you know that. Have you ever seen anyone in the late stages of lung cancer? It is horrible.  Keep that image in mind...will help remind you why you are doing this.

Use nicotine gum if you need to.  Otherwise use sugar free gum and hard candies to keep your mouth busy.

Have a plan to use when stressed.

Exercise is great.  Also, do some meditation.  Meditation breathing can be a great help when cravings hit.

Hoping the best for you.  It is a very tough thing to do.  Congrats on making the decision. You sound like you will make it.

I see.

I started today going to the gym and the elliptical wasn't as hard as it normally is. I wasn't coughing are clearing my throat as I worked out. I was felling great about my decision to quit until after I had breakfast with the wife. Damn I wanted to smoke after the meal, but I went for a piece of gum instead.

Good luck dude. I quit dipping on June 10, 2010 and haven't picked up a cigar or dip since. My motivation was my kids. If you want motivation, google some stories about the effects of tobacco every morning. That helped me through the first month now I don't even have a craving.
