Gordon/Gordon trade idea

I just don't think JR would want to come here. He seemed like someone who wants to play with star player like Melo. It would be a great addition if happened.

I'm under the same impression with Gordon, if he wants out of New Orleans, why would he want to come to Charlotte?

You know what I mean.

Also it's not that I don't like Eric, it's solely base on his injury history.

The thing is Gordon will be tied up for the next 3 years. He really cant do anything, unless pouch. I'm not sure he'd do that to MJ.

Smith scenario is different that he's a free agent. He get to choose where to play. I'm not sure if Charlotte is on his top 15 teams.

Anyway, I dont see this trade happening.

So do you guys want a top three pick and 20+ million in cap space next season? I do.

I hate that it seems like the one more season to sit back and grow this team may becut short(according to rumors).

The Hornets will make a hugh mistake if they try to blow their wad overpaying for an aged veteran this season.

Only guy I see to getin free agency is a young JJ Hickson is a tough power rebounder inside scorer. I'd hope he would demand less than max money..But reluctantly pass on the Al Jefferson, other Utah guy..

Its like you just paid off a horrible credit card and want to go get a cash advance immediately. You just defeated the whole purpose to suck for two seasons.. Next years draft is the best one since.. Well in a while.

Just stand pat at 4 or trade down or try to get another pick next season...target a young FA shooter like F Chandler Parsons in free agency 2013.

Get your young franchise stud in the draft. Then its packed houses and everyone cheering superHugo on his vault dunk!!

J.R. Smith is a terrible idea you wonder which J.R. is going to show up on a nightly basis

Henderson over him all day

Yeah.... you're not intelligent...

You clearly watched only a few games of the second round of the playoff's and listen to ESPN way to much.

J.R. Smith was 4th in shooting guard scoring behind only Kobe Bryant, James Harden, and Dwayne Wade... He averaged 18.1 points per game this year including a game where he he dropped 37 on the Bobcats.

I'm guessing you're a new fan who just decided to latch on because we got the Hornets name back and never saw this...

I want a top 3 pick and 20+ million in cap space. Though, we have to spend money this year. I'm surprised that this is the first time I've seen Hickson name brought up this year. Everyone wanted Hickson last year, and he suddenly just disappeared in conversation this offseason. Hickson is a young PF who we can bring in and still be bad enough to be a Top3 team in next year's draft. Also, he shouldnt demand a max contract. Hickson would compliment well with Alex Len. That would be a fun front court to watch for the future. Hickson and probably Paul Millsap are the only two guys I would want to target in Free Agency. I highly prefer Hickson bc he's younger and an extremely tough rebounder.

2014-2015 Charlotte Hornets

PG: Kemba

SG: Wiggins? / Parker? / Smart?

SF: Kidd-Gilchrist / Taylor

PF: Hickson / Biz

C  : Len

JR Smith is good but a young Hornet team is not a good fit. I am not saying he would not immediately be the teams best player but he is just not a guy you want as a building block of a team.

The closest thing to a building block the team has is Kemba who I think would be best as a 6th man instant offense guy.

I have nothing wrong with Smith, there isn't as many distractions in Charlotte as there is in New York; so I think he would fit in alright. On top of that he would get to be the go-to-go guy for the first time in his career.

I have always hated his ego even back with the Nuggets. He was one of the guy along with Stackhouse who cried about Lin making money.

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
    • Winning ain't gonna make my eyes lie to me. Context matters, and it will always matter in the game of football.
    • That TD pass to Legette against Miami. Elite. The play where Bryce rolls right to buy time until Tet can reverse field.  Bryce pumps as multiple defenders close in.  He barely gets it away before he takes a big time hit.  Beautiful off platform throw and great catch by Tet.   The second TD to Tet against Dallas where Bryce dips and turns his shoulder in to evade the pass rusher.  Resets and finds Tet in the end zone. Dude embodies the Keep Pounding mantra.
