Is MBA worth it?

Trust me, there are many reasons to live here. Many construction workers get paid now per completion basis. That's why they work from 7am to 9pm, 6-7 days a week. mexicans usually live together, 5-7 people per 2 bedroom apartment. They try to make as much money as they can and then go back. Now, they can live in US, they no longer have work their ass off. They can strive for higher pay. Who's gonna work on farms and build houses and do other dirty work? I know not Americans... Other illegals will. Also, newly legalized Hispanics are now free to file paperwork on their relatives behalf to become legals. So over next 10 years u will see steady inflow of people from Mexico.

Baby boomers in high end positions can retire.

True but a lot them choose not to til they are forced out.

Also Private Pilots license is cheaper than a MBA.  Now a commericial pilots license is defiantly not worth it.

MBA - depends, if you want to to go for a Director(or high level Mgmt) level position then the pay grade increase will probably support the investment $ for your MBA. But you need to have a position targetted before you start. Don't just say, I think I'll get a MBA because it'll look good on my resume.

Depending on your career field, with a Masters in (i.e.) Mechanical or Electrical Engineering you could write your own ticket and still work your way up.

Sure, a private pilot license is somewhere in the neighborhood of $6-8k. But there's a helluva lot more to it than that.

First of all, it's not going to help in any way, shape or form in getting a higher paying job.

Second, it'll likely become more costly than an MBA very quickly afterward getting the license as you start paying a couple hundred an hour to rent a decent aircraft to keep your hours current...

Third, although I fly all over the place, I'd rather spend the money sailing... there are far more planes in the oceans than there are boats in the sky... lol

Very true on the last part.  lol  Yeah renting a airplane can be expensive but I was thinking she was wanting to do it for adventure.

Im looking into taking sailing classes myself right now.

Her "adventures" always seem to be rather expensive:

* The private scuba lessons for both of us in our pool...

* Her taking the motorcycle course, getting the license, buying a bike so she wouldn't have to ride w/me... then selling it once she figured out she cannot focus 100% on riding when she did go out. Always business on her mind...

* The MBA

* Bondurant School of High Performance Driving (won't ride a bike, but will drive a Vette at 160mph...)

Glad she got that MBA, actually, she probably couldn't afford all this poo without it...

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
