the Cam effect?

Cam is a galvanizing player. Folks gravitate to him. Things are much different since we signed him. He has that swagger that folks either love, or hate. NFL players want to win. Playing with Cam is great fun, and the wins should come. He has an effect on people and players.

 

 

I think Mikell would be a nice addition.

 

But, calling a player who is unsigned in July a "top rated player" is a bit of a stretch

I think he is still unsigned because it was thought he was going to resign with the Rams. Now that he is still available, it is kind of a shock. He is still very productive. He still has skills. It is just pure dumb luck he is visiting us.

 

 

i doubt a multi-year deal because of his age. He was last in the pro-bowl in 2010. Was cut by the rams because of his 9 million cap hit.

Exactly. He is not going to get nearly that amount. But he isn't going to sign for the vet minimum either. A 2 year deal for around 2.5-3 mil would not surprise me. But hellz, I am just an arm chair GM. I am just giddy he even considers us a landing spot.

More veterans in the secondary is never a bad thing. All these young kids thrown into the fire last year could learn a thing or two from them...

Yeah this is surprising to me.  I dont want to get ahead of myself but im starting to believe this team could do it.  I didnt feel good about the secondary, safeties especially but QM is a very good player and would help us out a ton.

It would be nice for a vet like Quintin to leave some sort of knowledge or legacy behind for the younger guys to grow with.  Any decent vet is welcome in our secondary as far as I am concerned.

McDermott is certainly familiar with him. Mikell made the Pro Bowl under him in 2009. Hope this gets done.
