What would be reasonable for them to ask?

 

Kemba + Multi-Picks?

 

If that's so and (trying to remember) a couple of our picks are up in the air for next season anyways, wouldn't that be a move that gets the BuzzCats closer to some serious wins?

 

 

Do you think projecting out that Kemba will be a) keepable and B) good as or better than Rondo?

IMO, it's hard to tell, as the market will determine his value.  I get the feeling that he won't demand as much as we anticipate he would but, my guess would be Kemba and several picks is the bare minimum needed for us to get him - which is why I don't want to do it.

 

Again, in my humble opinion, I think Kemba will develop into a very similar player, if not, better player than Rondo eventually.  Rondo is a winner and he can do everything on the court but, there are aspects of his game that I wouldn't really want here as the centerpiece.  Part of he reason he racks up stats like he does is because, IIRC, he used to shrug off plays Doc would call so that he would have the ball in the last seconds of the possession so, he was guaranteed to get a bucket or assist.  And he's very deliberate in what he does.

 

Again, I like watching him from afar but, weighing all of the pros and cons, I'd much rather have the young guys we have going forward and add to it...  We've already sucked this long, let's get better incrementally and build something sustainable.

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
