Hornets have limited interest in Jeremy Lin

His legend began in a Bobcat-Knicks game in Charlotte.... And that is all I can say about that.

Lin is too pricey to be a backup which is what he is.

The Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets and the Detroit Pistons would be absolutely perfect.

The latter squad made a big splash signing Josh Smith, but they still need someone to run the offense. Smith may love to jack up bad shots like a combo guard, but he isn’t a combo guard. Lin is. He would instantly make Detroit’s offense fun to watch and he’d fit in perfectly with a group that’s stacked from a bigs perspective, but is lacking when it comes to impressive guard play.

Charlotte is a less ideal landing spot than Detroit, but it also would be a pretty solid fit for Lin. Although there is a lot of hoopla regarding his contract, who exactly besides Al Jefferson has willingly come to the Bobcats in recent years? They need to make a splashy move of some sort, and Lin dominating the ball here wouldn’t be much of a problem either. From both a PR and basketball standpoint, it makes sense. And whereas Houston clearly always had its sights set on acquiring a big name star, Charlotte’s aspirations are much less lofty. They’ll be satisfied with Lin so long as he produces.

At the end of the day, regardless of where Lin ends up, the Rockets do want to trade him. Fans can delude themselves into thinking otherwise if they want, but that won’t change the facts at hand. One way or another, if there is a move to be made, Morey will make it before the season begins.

With Al Jefferson and Zellar...Im all in on Kemba as well.

Lin is a better deep shooter but if Kemba gets the pick and roll down he will be a star...or at least a just outside All star level guy.

Tony Parker could not hit the side of the backboard his first three seasons so there is a lot of promise with Kemba.

Gary Neal being a free aagent now that SA recinded their Free Agent tender on him is interesting.

Agreed on the article being pure speculation. I would only see Lin as that "third point guard" that Clifford has been talking about. With that contract there is no way. I would even say that I have no idea what thought process the author is using here. I don't think Lin makes a lick of sense here...

    • They’ve lost players the past few years because of salary cap they’re eating 18 mill in dead money this year for Cam Jordan and Demario Davis I believe they’ll still have 8 mill or so in dead money in 2027 for Cam Jordan They now have a QB on a rookie deal. Both RT and LT on rookie deals. As much as everyone hates on the Saints they’ve drafted themselves out of this massive hole they dug themselves in
    • My first instinct is to be livid. But these jokers are tying their jobs to this so let them make their bed. And on the flip side. Seeing what Canales managed with Bryce Young last season who knows what he could do with Pickett if need be if it came down to it. I still want us to draft a developmental QB.
    • Because if Bryce goes down, we're screwed no matter what. And if Bryce goes down, it means we're probably replacing him next year anyways. So why spend this kind of money on a backup who isn't going to help you win a lot of games, but is probably good enough to help you win just enough to not get a top pick in the draft. Should have just drafted a mid round QB this year.  Bryce either proves he's the guy of the future and then we sign a real backup next year (unless the rookie can handle the job), or he shits the bed again and we give the rookie a shot to see if he can be the next Wilson or Purdy, and if not we draft a new QB next year.
