Philly WR Riley Cooper is a racist

I gotta say living in the deep, deep south, the outrage at this has shocked me. It's not a term I personally care to use, but I hear this routinely every single day. It doesn't even bother a large percentage of blacks down here anymore. I see whites use it to blacks in open buddy-buddy conversation on a daily basis (as a black man would to another black man.) It's become hilariously common, and while that doesn't change that it's wrong (I've always been of the persuasion that it should be a taboo term regardless of your skin color, including blacks) I'm simply shocked at the national outrage at this.

I also gotta say... And as much as I hate to take Cooper's defense here after he did something terrible... This doesn't make him a racist. He no doubt of course could be, but I have I hard time believing a guy who played sports all his life and all the way up into the pro level, could secretly hate a group of people he's played alongside his whole life. I think it's way more likely he was being a drunk idiot than some closet racist.

And then again, even if he were racist he can't do squat about it. Just a whole lot of gray hairs. The public don't care if one is racist or not. They want those thought to be kept to themselves. It's the "tree falls in forest, no one to hear it, does it make sound" mentality. Which I agree with because no one goes to Cooper's living room to let him how they feel about him, why should we listen to his rant. Quite simple. Just be a closet racist.

Alright guys, apparently black people are the only ones who are allowed to be offended by a word. I'll make sure to remember that next time.

Try not to forget how to breathe or poop given the amount of rememberin' you have to do

Keep on fighting the good fight for our rights. We will reach equality one day

White people cry even more when they get insulted because they're not use to it. You make it sound like people are throwing insults at each other everywhere 24/7. Nobody like insults. Nobody. Everybody gets insulted by insults. Nobody spews insults at each other for no reason. No blacks did anything to cooper to deserve the epithet. If he had insulted any other race he would still be in limbo.

    • Tools. If I hear that term used one more time I'm going to lose my damn mind.  "Tools" are meaningless if they cannot use them already. Stop looking for "tools" and find productive football players. Stop looking for combine freaks and look for guys that have produced at a high level already. Tools my ass.
