Unclaimed Baggage Center - you must see! UPDATED

Recently during a road trip I stopped at the Unclaimmed Baggage Center in North Alabama.

In a nutshell, they sell you items from unclaimed luggage from all over the world. You find everything from iPads to sporting equipment to brand new clothes to jewelry....

I bought a few iPhone chargers, which were apple products, retail $29.99, I paid $10.

They have everything you can imagine and it was such a big place! If you are a bargain hunter, you need to check this place out!

Here is an inside look

Meh. The discounts aren't even that good. I mean if I want cheap stolen merchandise, I'll just go to a pawn shop.

I still like the Good Will store. I truly think I could make a living selling stuff from the Good Will that no one really knows how much it's worth on eBay. Last time we were there, my girlfriend got a brand new London Fog trench coat for $8. That coat retails for over $250. I got 2 Swarovski blue crystal whiskey glasses for 98 cents apiece. A set of those retails for at least $75. Not to mention a Joseph A Bank sport coat for $10. People avoid it because of the stigma attached to it, but it's a fuggin' gold mine if you know retail.

For real. You could buy any random item at Goodwill, and there's like a 90% chance you could sell it for more than you bought it for somewhere else.

I would like to consider myself somewhat of an avid bargain hunter. The discounts here were surprising good actually.

Goodwill really is hit or miss. The best way to take take advantage of good will is to find a high volume store, and on weekday mornings.

The absolute best place to find bargains are yardsales....

  • 6 months later...

So I stopped back by this place and found some great stuff

32gb iPod touch. $45, regular $280

Stitched Michael Jordan Nike Bulls authentic Jersey $8, regular $250

A pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses in mint condition $52, regular $250

A pair of black leather Alfani loafers (brand new, never worn $15, regular $90

Belkin iPod touch armband case $2, regular $20

Outbox iPod case $2, regular $40

So I got $930 worth of merchandise for $180

I think they are starting to get a ton of stuff in from all the holiday travel. The place is huge now, much bigger than when I was there 7 months ago. They even added an outlet next door. Also, they had probably 40 nfl and NBA jerseys for $8-$20 each...or should I say "Cheap and high quality"! There were hundreds of: iPads, all types of phones, beats by dre, hats, suits, coats, shoes (all stuff it pretty much brand new, most of the stuff has the original stickers on it), jewelry, sporting equipment, home goods...you name it, it's there.

If you enjoy bargain hunting, this place is for you. I almost feel like I am buying stolen merchandise from the mob or something!

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
