You keep on saying RO wasn't the problem but its the OL then why are the coaches reducing the RO and going back to traditional game and why didn't the new GM address the OL during the draft if it was the main problem in our running game?

If you look at non Saints game....Double Trouble had indentical production first half vs second half. Same carries, same ypc.

Why didn't DG address OL? Limited resources. Limited picks. Good OL are also expensive and he probably figures odds favor him rebuilding the offense entirely next year with a new staff....so outside of cheap band aids doing anything for the O would be digging a hole

Resources where limited but he could have picked up a OL in the 2nd round instead of picking up Short. He was pleased with the talent we have at OL.

 

How about a $50 bet that the OL improves and RB production goes up this year?

If he was pleased with what we have at the OL....then he isn't the talent evaluator people thought. He would just be the kinda of guy who can watch David Carr in Carolina and think he is the type guy we need if our QB goes down....

I don't bet in real life....so it ain't happening with here either

 We shall see..... we will be able to tell by week 3 or 4 how good our run game is and the OL will be holding up.

 

Maybe Zod should create a Virtual Huddle money or points people can wager to backup their trash talk!  :cam:

 

 

P.S.  it was a good debate   we need to have more on this forum.

Given our o-line issues do you guys think we'll be a pass first run second offense? Maybe keep them from stacking the box early to give us a glimmer of hope at running the ball.

Who says he is wrong and you are right?  Who says that the offensive line is that bad.  Once again not getting a push when we are not game planning and are running vanilla plays against a defense which is run blitzing and playing all out is not an accurate or good test of what they can do.

 

There is a reason you are on this message board and he is the GM. But don't let that stop you.  Might as well find more things you can be wrong about to add to your long list.

They could not open holes last year....

What has changed that implies they can suddenly this year....certainly not there preseason scrimmages.

Sure, there is a reason I post here and am not interviewed for GM jobs....there likely are several (that is more than 1)reasons DG couldn't ever get interviews with anyone but us.

Just bc I am not qualified to be a GM isn't a great defense that our GM doesn't have flaws we have yet to me smacked in the face with

And if we are keeping score....you have been wrong more than I in our back and forths. Difference is the things that blew up in my face I finally admit I was wrong about.....you will just spin and spin never able to deal with the fact you got what is ultimately a guess wrong
