Goodbye David Gettis

Still pushing that bash Armanti agenda I see.

Yeah, Gettis is so much better than Armanti that he is on IR and out of a job next year.

What does being good have to do with going on IR? Sterling Sharpe went on IR and ended his career, does that mean Armanti is a better receiver?

Gettis has contributed more despite 2 years of IR than Armanti has in a Panthers uniform.

Gettis > Armanti

Keary Colbert > Armanti

Drew Carter > Armanti

So you are saying Gettleman and Rivera are disingenuous, and your expertise is above theirs? I suppose you will also have to include every other GM in the league too, since they didn't bother to put in a waiver claim for Gettis.

I've seen blame about this guy getting cut thrown in every direction imaginable. Except at David Gettis himself.

No, I didn't say that. I know you can read. And, like I've already pointed out, I don't see anyone clamoring to put in a waiver claim for any of our receivers (except for 89, of course), and that should be telling.  As for G-man and Rivera, they have to take more into account than just what their eyes see on the receiving corps.  But, I stand by what I said: The receiving corps is not as good without Gettis. Period.

For the people who trash Armanti left and right, the only response I can get out of them is "he sucks!", or "excuses excuses". When it comes time to talk about Gettis though. Every excuse in the book is listed off.

If you have something against the guy, you'll have to work that out with yourself. He plays for this team, I support him. I'm not going to throw a tantrum and belittle him all season because my favorite player couldn't cut it.

Really? That's all you can get out of the people who don't like Armanti? "He sucks!"

How about his stat line? 3 years, 5 catches. One of the worst punt returners in the league in most statistical categories. 0 touchdowns, even when he had the opportunity to score them.

And I'll buy the "He plays for the team, I support him" bullshit when I see you devoting the same energy to defending Nakamura every time he's bashed.

What are you talking about? Teams can only put in claims for players waived. We haven't waived any receivers worth a damn. You've been upset about this for the past 48 hours. You just brought it up in the Mikell thread, lol.

Also, it is merely your opinion that this receiver corps is supposedly worse off without him.

Clearly the people with actual knowledge in the league disagree with you.

So you admit that you just don't like him? Hey that's your problem.

Pretty sure I've been overt about that from the beginning. He's a shitty player who contributes less than nothing and I don't think he deserves a spot on the team.

"Well the people in charge disagree with you!"

And they also think Byron Bell is an NFL starter.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
