no im not high, Josh Norman is legit. Been watchin the game a lot longer than your 23 years. He's the best db the Panthers have had in a decade.

we won't win until this stubborn ass coaching staff starts him! All of yall know its true. He is by far the best player in our secondary, but he doesn't play. I'm sick of the teasing. The guy played 16 quarters in the preseason and had 4 picks. He would have intercepted that pass in the end zone.

 

I like Josh Thomas as a physical db, but Norman is the best defensive back in the NFCS and he only plays on 3rd down and it pisses me off.

Norman played pretty good in training camp last year as well.  When the season started however he got toasted continuously.  If Norman was legitimately the best corner back he would be starting.   Same as when Kuechly took over the middle, he was so good that they just told Beason your spot is gone.  Don't let his outstanding preseason make you go crazy.  Best DB in the NFCS?  Really?  Even Revis on one leg is probably the best DB.

I'm not sure what the deal is with our secondary.  Are the guys so slow they have to play with the big cushions?  Is Godfrey really just that bad at making decisions on where to go when the ball is snapped?  This is a question that may not get answered until the off season, which sucks.  I'm kind of tired of the soft cushions, the late safety play we see in crunch time.

 

I like Norman, I do, but the coaching staff feels like he's not ready for primetime yet.  He might be a summer beast, but he's not fall ready it seems.  I hope he starts making plays as the No. 3.  Be nice to have someone make some plays.

 

I might be completely off base, but I hate seeing other teams kill us in the 4th quarter when they throw the ball.  This would be moot-ish had we scored at least a TD or two FGs yesterday.  But alas, if I had a penny for every time I said that...

Was anyone watching the dame game as me? They pulled a classic 49's game plan fro the 80's and 90's with Montana and Young. Short dink and dunk passes. Very few passes were even attempted over 15 yards. The one scoring pass was the longest attempt of the day. Secondary was not as much at fault as the LB Corp for not covering the TE and HB out of the back field were. There was several broken coverages by TD, and Kuechly.

 

For the most part, I see we have a strong Defense but we need to work on the offense. They may have been more conservative due the fact we had backup OG's on the line. Even so the run game was working with those backup OG's. The fumble is what it is. We all know that Seattle's defensive players are taught to punch the ball out. They did it on almost every tackle or at least attempted to.

 

Josh Norman although had a good Preseason, it was the preseason. He played with the second string Defense against second and third string QB's. Hell every one was high on him the year before because he picked off cam 4 times in pone practice. MAKING INTERCEPTIONS A CORNER DOES NOT MAKE!!!!!! He still had several blown coverages in the preseason.

 

Is he better than last season? Yes. Is he the best player in our secondary? Not yet.

Well in fairness, we'd still need another CB with Norman on the field. DBS should got at the ball first before setting their mind on tackling. This is why we get burnt and have dbs do soooooooooooooooooooooooo many chase down tackles. Size is the issue in the secondary. That is truly our biggest weakness overall. Manageable but not worthy to be with that Defense. The good thing is we only need ONE DB. One DB away from top 3 defense. we need to draft that or trade for it.
