Artest to sign with Lakers

Recommended Posts

Source: Rotoworld per CBS sportsline

Rockets unrestricted free agent Ron Artest told CBSSportsline.com that he is going to sign with the Lakers.

CBS's Ken Berger offers no details, but says they are coming. Artest is a huge coup for the Lakers if the news is true, as they could then afford to lose Trevor Ariza (who, ironically, could be joining the Rockets) and/or Lamar Odom to free agency.

If you could get Artest would you want Ariza? I wouldnt.

Im really sick of the rich getting richer. Thats all the NBA has become. These teams have no fear of the the luxary tax anymore and they are spitting in the face of the salary cap. Its becoming silly. LA, Cleveland, Boston, Portland, Orlando and Detriot are the only teams making any noise. This is bad for basketball

I agree 140%. I f**king hate the Lakers!!!!! I cant stand these bastards man, always pull poo like this off. They win a title in '82 and get the #1 pick and take James Worthy!!!! A HOFer. Getting Abdul Jabbar from Milwaukee. Raping the Hornets for Kobe, Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown, seems like the Lakers are always taking sorry ass small market teams best players and trading away their garbage for them. The fact that Ariza chose Houston stinks like a mudder f**ker. Artest is a guy I really respect as a basketball player, but him joining the Lakers makes him a SELLOUT to me. I pray to my maker that the Bobcats sweep these clowns again next year.

In the words of someone much smarter than me, "Don't hate the player, hate the game."

It's not the Lakers fault that the league is set up the way it is. Should they not try and improve? Anyway, get ready for a repeat and then a threepeat. :D

    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
    • No We have been making excuses for him for 3 years, and we have gave him a hundred chances  Bryce is a bust, and we need to cut him now and stop wasting everyone's time
