Cam has to feel trapped on a terrible football team

He got better and is still getting better.  Plus he threw about a million passes (5th most in league) in his rookie season.  Sometimes it will lead to a bad %.  See Peyton Manning

I do not think Cam is progressing like this kid is/will.  I also do not remember seeing passes missing as badly as those Cam launched today.  Some of that ish was just plain bad.

What do you mean he got better?  Lol as the season progressed last year, his completion % went down.  He had a streak at the end of the year where he was below 50%.  And his stat line today was right on par with Cam's...Cam threw 2 TD's to his 1, and the completion % was about the same.  How do you figure he's getting better?

Man, you just want Luck to be better sooooo bad.  You're not making any sense. He threw a million passes?  Lol is that the best you got? If he threw a million passes, and was progressing like you said, his % would have gone up late last season.  Instead it went down, which showed he was getting worst.

lots of fans hung up on stats more so than wins

weird coping mechanism for a fan base, but whatever works I guess

Stats are all we have to go by in this instance; especially since your saying he's soooo much better than Cam.  If wins are the only thing that matters, then I suppose you think Luke is doing horrible as well.  His unit hasn't been able to hold up either.  I guess Luke isn't clutch either.  You can't hold Cam to that win/loss bullsh*t.  This is a team game man.

most of the people dry humping luck are basically just saying that he passes the eye test in an extremely roundabout way

"the kid may have had a low completion percentage but he progressed so much.  i care about wins, not stats.  that's a lesson you cam fans could learn from if i say so myself!"

hahahahahahahahaha

-Realizes he loses argument

-Then completely forgets the argument and starts personal attacks.

good debate bro. don't let it bother you. you'll realize soon enough that Im never wrong :)

take care. better luck next time

Pssssst. You're trying too hard.

What an unheard of internet tactic that I've received from you. Your failed attempts at flipping it around are not working. Also you initiated the name calling first. Funny how you aren't even defending being a bandwagon fan.

Lol yea I bet he passes the eye test.  I'm not going to even get into that, though. Haha had someone on here even say they'd take Manziel over Cam, when they're essentially the same player.  "That Cam seems like he's not liked in the locker room, but I'm sure Manziel will be liked and a great leader."  It's funny, especially when it's been shown that Manziel can't stay out of trouble either.

    • Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own.  So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks?    2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
