What Newton Really Needs

Recommended Posts

It's not an obvious comment from a Bills fan, but anyone who watched the 2011 offense can see that as soon as we went away from the 2 TE base, we immediately lost that magic we had in 2011 (even though we lost 10 games).  That year we were not solid at DT or MLB or Safety.  Now that we are better (not always great...but good) its clear that the offense is the weakest link.  With our weapons we should be putting up 30 points a game.  It's sad that we abandoned what was working.  And for what?  Shockey didn't sign with another team.  He was a really good presence.  Why did we cut him loose?  He wasn't successfully replaced.  Brandon Moore may be talented, but he's not the answer.

If a Bills fan can see what we need and our coaches can't, just lol.

Seriously, I have been saying this for awhile.

"But we have Ben Hartsock guys. YAY!!!!"

Coaches don't build the roster.....I am sure there is plenty Ron wants and doesn't get

Ron epicallly sucks at game management and feel for a game...he is actually pretty smart when it comes to some other things. He isn't as dumb as peol

what cam needs...

  • a second pass catching TE.
  • competant receivers who can get open.
  • an OL that won't suck.
  • an OC that won't try to turn him into a game manager.
  • a HC that will trust his best weapon on 3rd/4th and one...the BEST weapon in the league in those situations... instead of trusting his weak (and now broke down) secondary to stop a team from airing it down the field and taking away a hard earned lead at the end of the game.

Pretty much any QB in this league would excel with all those pieces, other than the guy we drafted in the second and cut this year

with the salary cap against us the next couple years, it will be hard to sign anyone worth a damn because they want more than a one year contract.

not next year.

the tv deal won't hit until maybe the year after.

teams still won't have money.

the market will still be crowded....even more crowded because in addition to the usual amount of FAs hitting the market there will be all those dummies who asked for or desperate players who just signed one year deals thinking next year would be better.

it will likely be the same situation as this year, only with more one year deals and smaller contracts being doled out. there's just no incentive to teams to go nuts. i mean there will always be teams like the dolphins or bucs who throw money like crazy and still suck, but all in all, the market will still be very much a buyers market.

Well the dolphins are 2-0

you expect that to continue?

i sure don't.

not at all convinced they are the real deal. they beat the browns(also suck) and the colts(overrated).

they've got the real teams coming up on the schedule now. reality is going to hit them.

but yeah, i see your point. i just think it's an abberation.

The important thing is they won the games they were suppose to win. There isn't a damn person here who counted the bills game as a loss when predicting the record.
