Peterson says he's best CB in football, talks about Smitty.

Smitty hasn't had a big game yet so why think stopping him is the key? Truth is that we spread the ball around quite a bit.  Smitty has 143 yards on 14 catches, Ginn has the same number of yards on 7 catches averaging a ridiculous 20 yards a catch and 2 TDs.  Olsen leads the team in catches and yards and except for a few drops would have 4 more catches and another 100 yards. Honestly this offense is balanced and productive.  If Peterson shuts down Smitty that really doesn't mean the same thing as shutting down Calvin Johnson.

PP is an Alpha male, of course he thinks he's the best. Nothing wrong with thinking that... Doesn't make him correct but if I was Wes Welker I'd claim to be the best WR in the game... Wouldn't make him or myself correct either.

I guess what I'm saying us that it's normal for elite athletes to think if themselves as currently "the best"

Bruce Arians said it, PP just went with it.  We all know that Arians is the final word in defensive player evaluations.  He is a GOD at that poo.  Maybe we should just stay home and forfeit.

*** Arians and *** Peterson!  We are coming to kick your teeth in so get ready Cardinals.

To add to what P55 said and make an additional point piggy backing off his thoughts:

It just goes to show you how much more versatile we have evolved to as an offense. In the past, shutting down Smitty would usually mean a dismal performance offensively for us. Nowadays though, defenses have to pick their poison. At least one team this year will test Smitty and his age by single covering him... Smitty will make them pay dearly. I hope it's this weekend!

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
