To attempt to cope with this, my mock offseason #1

Haha don't do this to yourself yet.

First round pick has to be a guard or tackle, that is all that is clear at this point.

Negative.

Gettle is a no bullshit guy and he has stated his approach is to draft BPA and fill holes in FA.

We ABSOLUTELY have holes on the O-Line, but if Lee is there and elite lineman aren't, we will take Lee, IMO.

Yea, situations in the draft are fluid and I trust Dave, but the o-line is almost too bad to not draft someone with our first, but if there isn't a guy we like there then we should look elsewhere position wise.

So...what was that about Marqise Lee not missing a game?

Congrats he missed one game, it's still far from a serious/significant/severe/bad knee injury. Your god Clowney missed a game too, does that mean he's no longer a first rounder?

I never said Clowney wouldn't miss a game. I never said he was my "god". I never even mentioned Clowney. You did. Good try though.

Try again.

Marqise Lee is looking great, maybe he could be the 2nd WR on our team and eventually take over as top dog in a few years when Smith's too old to play. Maybe teams will overlook him due to his injury and we can snag him for a steal. I think the risk outweighs the reward.

Marquise Lee is horribly overrated. He struggles against press coverage, which is very rare in college but is what he will see most in the NFL. I do think we should go after a WR in the 1st, however, I would much rather that WR was Mike Evans. He is a big physical WR who can give Cam a consistent target on the outside, preventing him from having to force throws. We can then go after an OG in the 2nd, such as Gabe Jackson from Mississippi State. RT and CB are also a need and can be addressed later on.

    • Why not? Dude was tough as nails. Came off the field after a vicious hit and showed the coach how his ring finger was knocked out of socket halfway up. You could see the shock on Fox's face. Brad just  pulled  on the finger, grimaced, got it back in alignment and went back in for the next play and blew up an opposing linebacker or two. Dude is legendary.
    • Motown let on like he'd like to play at least another 5 years in his presser. I fell he was truthful and us fans over did his knee. The guy started like 108 starts in a row and only missed like 2 games over each of the past years.  I think as long as the team agrees with his value that Motown has, he will sign another contract extension to push the void years into the 2030s.  OLmen can play at high levels up til 40. Trent williams is doing it, Richie Incognito leftd and came back to play until he hit 38. Lane Johnson is still playing at a top level while 38. You member Greg Van Roten, he's somehow still playing at 36 and he started here after being a substitute teacher years before. If you are able to get over the 32 year bump, its possible to reach 38 with luck. Colleges do a poor job of preparing new OLmen, many times that vet is better.   Rams were begging Andrew Whitworth to come back while he was 39, if you got the genes, luck and still willing to put in the hard work....it is possible to play until 38 as a OLmen*starting level*
    • Shaq was a fantastic LB, he just happened to have been standing in the shadow of a Panthers great and a Hall of Famer. He was team-lead starter quality for all 32 teams of the NFL. Don't throw shade on him, he was never just a guy.
