Screw Our Needs, I Want Ebron.

If I were to make a list of things I wanted us to draft I'm not sure a TE even makes the list.

Ignoring glaring needs on the team for another position without the player we take being heads and shoulders better than a player at a position we desperately need is just an awful idea.

To be honest, he gives Olsen and a lot of TE's who start a run for their money.

"giving them a run for their money" and "being head and shoulders better than a different draft pick at a position we desperately need help at" are two very different things.  Given equal or even slightly disparate talent between two players on the board when we pick I would not likely take a TE over one of the positions we do have a pressing need for.

Yes the 2 TE sets were useful but that doesn't make another TE the smart pick.  Just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Holy crap that catch he just made. One handed, while half spinning against 10th ranked Miami.

Rams, Bucs and Atlanta, fall to 2 and 6....and then we begin our epic run.

It could happen.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
