And here's the mistake I see made time and again...

The virtues of weed, whatever you perceive them to be, are irrelevant to the discussion.

The League rules are against it. They test for it, and they test more frequently when you're a known user. And if you're caught using, you get suspended.

Nobody in the League office asks you how you feel about weed. Nobody asks you to give your defense of weed. The only question is "did you use it or not" and if the answer is 'yes' then their answer is "see ya".

They just don't care what you think.

When you have a guy who's so devoted to weed that he's willing to risk suspension, then at heart you have a bad teammate. He's willing to risk not being there when you need him, which means he's selfish, which means you can't trust him.

I don't want that guy on my team because there's a pretty strong chance he's gonna let me down, maybe at a crucial point in time.

Congrats on giving up weed since having a daughter, but realize that some of these guys are so devoted to the plant that they put it above family, friends, career and teammates.

Gordon has demonstrated, more than once, that he can be one of those guys.

That's why you avoid him.

I understand what your saying I really do. You saying he's violating policies and he isn't worth the risk and all that I get it. But he's a talented player. A guy like that you have to do your homework on. If he's not fighting and killing dogs or murdering people in his spare time I think then you consider it. The reason why I say it's just weed because he's doing something that isn't illegal depending on where you are.

You also have to consider he plays for the damn Browns and Brandon Weeden is his qb. Who wouldn't need to smoke a little pot to deal with that situation. You put him here on a young up and coming team with Cam Newton as his qb and all of a sudden his outlook might change.

Talent-wise, a 2nd rounder is completely worth it.  He is already showing he is a playmaker and he is just as young as any WR we would take in the 2nd round of the draft.  It's just his off-field concerns that make me lean toward only offering a 3rd.  With that said, I wouldn't be upset if we did pony up and offer more.

There are now also questions about his effort...

CPD: Chudzinaki defends Gordon

Dorru. Just too many red flags here. I can't get on board with giving up a high round pick here.

What Rivera said about the the team having each others backs, pack mentality...goes out the window bringing in a reject from the Cleveland Browns.  Panthers coaches believe in their guys and we won't see any acquisitions barring injury.

No it doesn't? Our team has great chemistry and has each others backs, and you think adding a new player into the locker room will cause them to start disliking each other or something? The browns are a rebuilding franchise fishing for draft picks, Josh Gordon is not a reject. If you have seen the browns play this year you would know that Gordan is an explosive player with good speed and hands and has 450 receiving yards this year, almost double the yards that our leading receiver Steve Smith has this year, and Gordan is playing with a terrible quarterback on a terrible team. Im not against trading for him but to say that he is a reject and that adding him to our team would cause our team chemistry to go out the window shows that you know absolutely nothing about team sports in general or football.
