Panthers -7 road favorites..

Frankly it should be more. I would easily take the -7. Lets see, we creamed the Giants by 38, the Vikes in Minn by 25 and the Rams by 15. -7 against the Mike Glennon led Bucs minus Doug Martin? Easy money. Tampa Bay away is not a tough road game at all, heck they cant pack their stadium when they have winning seasons let alone now. Thursday night game facing a 0-6 team that has all but quit on their lame duck coach.

I dont get why a lot of fans are "scared" of this game. Its time to get over the inferiority complex about the Panthers. The 2011 Bucs were a powerhouse compared to this year's Bucs and we demolished them both times in 2011. I cant think of one way the Bucs have the edge. Our D>>>Their D, our QB>>>Their QB, our WR corps >> Their WR corps. Our Backfield>>>their backfield.

Their no 2 WR is on pace for 400 yds on the season, heck I couldnt even tell you the name of their no 2 WR, Mike something I believe. Double Vjax=ball game. To put that in perspective, our number three WR is on pace for 800 yds on the season. Want more? D Will is on pace for more rec yds out of the backfield than their no 2 WR.

"But their D scares me." What D? The D that made Matt Ryan and Harry Douglas look like Joe Montana and Jerry Rice? Lol, or maybe its their 31st ranked offense that scares some fans lol. Bottom line, take the -7.

The 2011 Bucs?

That was an entirely different team. 2012 Bucs swept is and caused our O issues.....that would be the concern

They also had Josh Freeman last year who eclipsed 4000 passing yds on the season. Plus the players still bought in to Schiano last year and they went 7-9. This year the players gave up on Schiano and they are 0-6. I will be honest, if they had Freeman still I would be a lot more concerned but they have absloutely no other weapons outside of Vjax and Martin isnt playing. And the first time we played them the DNC on Charlotte fugd us and the 2nd time we played them we lead by 8 pts with 56 seconds left and thats when Rivera was bad Rivera.

I don't care how we win as long as we win...I want to finally see a Win in person....sitting in the standing...celebrating after the game because of a win.....catching the next morning 7 am flight back to the west with little sleep because we were too excited to sleep and decided to drink a little longer to enjoy the win...

Still a divisional game and they likely will make is a one dimensional offense....

We will have to play good football

I want to believe it will be a blow out but playing a division opponent is always harder than it seems.

I never got that line of thinking. Bad teams are bad teams and good teams are good teams, division rival or not. I dont think I buy that divisional games are different. Difference in intensity between teams yes, but beyond that, im not sure

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
