How easy (or hard) is it for you to watch games?

2003 was the worst. It seemed like EVERY game played out like the last two have - down to the wire and one or two plays made the difference. The emotional investment I had in that team really made the Super Bowl a crushing loss. It took me a good two weeks to get over that.

This season is turning into the cardiac cats again with the recent close wins. With the upcoming schedule against the saints I expect a few more of the intense close games that are decided on the final drive.

Easy.

I used to invest my entire life into the team. Then I learned the truth: it's just a game. Getting angry, fed up, overly hyped, insulted, etc. over this team is a waste of my own life. I live in the best city in the world. I watch the team each week, but there is so much more out there than the Panthers. Life is too short to punch walls or yell at the TV.

You live in the best city in the world lol? Do you try to sound like a tool every post?

Why the fug do you have thousands of posts on an Internet message board for a "game" if you couldn't care less and have better things to do?

You just completely failed at trying to come off as a care free douche bag. Go drink some PBR, get some more tats, head to Starbucks and try again.

When I was growing up, my father would take me to Texas A&M games.

Being a military school, you were not permitted to sit during the entire game (halftime was an exception).

I cannot sit down when watching the game. I stand behind my couch and use it as a bar rail to hold my beer during plays.

I also cannot sit during the game in the stands, It drives some crazy, but I've never been thrown out for simply standing during the game. I've even traded seats with kids so that they can see the game if they are behind me..

I'm going to have a heart attack one day watching the panthers play.

Same here. I think the older I got and the more winning seasons became so rare, it's gotten more intense for me. The game last year when the bucs scored 11 unanswered points to tie the game and win it in over time I actually felt sick from my chest to my stomach when they made the 2 point conversion to tie the game. After the game I was like, ya I need to take it easy.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
