Fri - injury report

Late round RBs are one of the few late round roster spots you can get quality players at pretty consistantly. Wouldn't be opposed to that.

We need to draft Ts and Gs IMO fairly high. WR is a glaring need though.

But we don't need to draft RB's right now we already have a stable and that is proving it with a W ..Stewart's contract makes it hard to release him and Gettleman's was the one who make the restructure...he seems to be the future of RB along with Mike Tolbert who is worth way more than his contract.........If anything it makes D-will the odd man out but I think keeping him would be worth it with his veteran leadership, and a running style that actually compliments Stew and Tolbert..  :dw:

We have Several picks next year and should invest heavily on the Offensive side.

1st round RG-  Gabe Jackson 6'4" 340 lbs msstate  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydrgJ0V1xY4

This is a late round pick and the talent level of the OL would have far more impact than a WR or TE. Given the situation of the  OL with Injuries. It would also play into the our strength since we are a run first team and our interior would become our strength much like the D-Line.

or LT/RT/

2nd round - TE/WR

3rd round- WR

4th round- CB

I really wish that "Big Money" Johnson was playing against the Bucs. We need a pass rush on Glennon. He's been putting up some good numbers. This is not a game to take likely. I saw that our RB's are Questionable: D Will: thigh, J Stew: Ankle and Tolbert: I forgot. I hope that we have enough to pull this off and keep the win streak going, along with the momentum...

I am high on G/OT La'el Collins LSU who will probably be available when we make our # 1 pick. WalterFootball ranks him as one of the top G/OT's in the 2014 NFL draft.

  La'el Collins*, G/OT, LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 321.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
Projected Round (2014): 1-2.

Collins is playing left tackle for the Tigers and has been extremely impressive this season. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger has been protected extremely well by Collins, and the big lineman has done well in run defense. He played well against Florida and Georgia.

Collins was an impressive power run-blocker in 2012 and helped the Tigers' stable of backs move the ball. He started 13 games at left guard and was an honorable mention All-SEC Selection. Collins has some road-grading potential but needs to improve his pass protection as a junior.

I would imagine the current stable we have.....begins to dissolve shortly.

We are near the point where we will just need to axe. The contract tweaks don't make it looks any better.

You can draft contrasting runner which is what Williams offers. A more explosive version. They could have one in Barner. They could be using this year to get the neck up stuff down

We will miss Charles Johnson, but Addison ranked very high last week and we have a pretty good rotation of guys.  I'm ok with being smart so Johnson can play in our Saints game(s) and hopefully playoffs..  I'm still confused as to why we put a guy back in the game to play a series when he needed multiple weeks rest though, but hey.

Both RBs are bad deals....I'm tabling all that until this season is over. We have them now. Ignore the contract and play them as roleplayers. Means some shouldn't really be heard of some weeks.

Cam has been the best rusher on this team for years now. Tolbert IMO is our best overall RB (based on scheme and line). I'd be fine parting with every RB not named Tolbert this offseason. Get some more young blood for cheap and have a real committee.

I agree.  With the right players (OL) & philosophy, low cost RBs could work for our team.

I think Gettleman, from the short time he's been here, will get this team straightened away, but it will take time.  He started on DL & fixed what's been broken for years (with amazing results), OL needs to be next & then the OC needs to allow a real running game to be established.

We have very good RBs with D-Will, Stew & Tolbert, but they are being used situationally (I mean that in a less than complimentary way).  We are playing gimmicky football in our running game b/c we suck at run blocking (+ I have concerns that our OC doesn't know how to establish an effective run game...but we can't know til we have a solid OL); this is not a knock only on Shula...Chud didn't do this either & form what I can tell (stats)...he (Chud) is continuing his weak running offense in Cleveland.

Cam, nor any QB, should not be the leading rusher on a football team (possibly on some HS teams, but not college or NFL; arena excluded b/c it isn't real football).

If D-Will is out, I'm looking forward to the possibility of Barner getting some touches. I've been wondering if his lack of field time (even on special teams) is because of a crowded roster at the skill positions or him being in the doghouse.
