This game vs New Orleans will help prepare us for a return to Seattle.

I hate them.  Trash-talking and crowds don't win football games unless you let them impact your approach.

We need to punch them in the mouth early and often.  The Saints let the Seahawks get those fans going early by looking like the team that plays the Globetrotters every game.  They handed them 10 points getting off the plane.

Being down to your 4th string RB will do that to you. We called him up from the practice squad.

Nick Goings went out with a concussion and we played most if the game with Jamal Robertson as our RB.

yep. we were one dimensional at that point..as in steve smith was the only weapon we had. in fact he was the only competant player on offense. we had poo for receivers aside from him and a gameplan that only involved throwing the ball to smith (thanks, henning and your feed the stud crap).  throwing to TEs was just not something we did. our philosophy was a hard core focus on running the ball and stopping the run, but we were down to jamal robertson...who was  pretty much only on the team because of special teams.

we had no ability or even desire to adjust because that just wasn't something that fox and his coaching staff believed in.

the seahawks were tough for sure and i knew mid season that the biggest obstacle to getting to the superbowl was seattle, but i think we still had a chance or at least would have if we weren't down to our fourth or fifth RB and had a  passing game that consisted of more than just throwing to smith.

i think both teams are better now than they were then and are better coached, but i also don't think that there is much separation between the two teams. the only advantage i can see them having in the playoffs over us is homefield advantage. i said it yesterday and I've said it before then. if the panthers and seahawks were to replay that week one game right now in charlotte, we win. if you put these two team on neutral ground, i still think we can win. playing in seattle just puts things in their favor.

but the bucs almost beat them there. that little tidbit makes me believe that they can be beat there and if there is a visiting team who can go into seattle and leave with a win, it's the panthers.

Remember folks we werent supposed to beat the greatest show on turf and look what happended there.

Double overtime baby

Was at that game.  Great memory seeing Smitty speed past Sehorn for the win.

St Louis is a great place to visit for an away game.  Adjacent to stadium are a number of bars and restaurants.  Even after losing a playoff game, the fans weren't a problem.  Actually, they were classy and we partied with them the rest of the evening.

Ah yes, I remember that game like it was yesterday. The start of the 2nd OT and Jake connects with Smith who outruns the whole secondary. Those were good times and there is more in the future :)
