You got your fact wrong, here is what a Travel and a Leisure magazine voted New Orleans in 2012

New Orleans rated best American city to visit by Travel + Leisure

For the second consecutive month, New Orleans has claimed an elite rating as a travel destination from a major tourism magazine. This time, in fact, it scored the highest honor, when Travel + Leisure declared it the best American city to visit.

Cities that won top scores in the reader survey, but didn't quite match those of New Orleans, include Santa Fe, Nashville, New York, Minneapolis, San Diego, Savannah, Charleston, West Virginia, San Francisco and Chicago.

In October, New Orleans came in 8th on Conde Nast Traveler's list of Top 10 Cities in the United States, making that list for what the magazine described as "the first time in ages."

As far as only one Fortune 500 company, factually wrong again:

New York, N.Y. - Three Louisiana companies make Forbes Fortune 500 list this year.

At the top of this year's list is Walmart. The retail giant has been battling it out with Exxon Mobil for top billing.

Exxon Mobil comes in at number two on the list. It can tout being the most profitable company on the list.

Louisiana's CenturyLink comes in at #150 on the list. Entergy takes the #261 spot. The other Louisiana company on the list is Shaw Group, coming in at #426.

Facebook makes the list for the fist time this year, coming in at #482.

Pretty weak stuff considering it's was all factually incorrect, unless they changed national laws and suddenly raw sewerage can be legally dumped into public rivers?

CenturyLink and Shaw aren't based in New Orleans, ass. And Walmart is based in Arkansas.

CenturyLink and Shaw aren't bases in New Orleans, ass. And Walmart is based in Arkansas.

I posted the whole article. It wasn't saying Walmart was in NO, it was beginning the article by mentioning who came in at top, thus the sentence about Walmart and Exxon being the top two on Fortune 500 list.

The next sentence mentions the three companies here that are on the list with their rank

Centurylink at 150

Entergy at 261

Shaw Group at 426

Please tell me how the local news lied to us and is incorrect. A quick Google search of companies could have saved you further embarrassment, ass.

But but but... We have a walmart in New Orleans...

Reading comprehension, check into it, the article didn't say that was one of the three LA companies, only that it was at top of Fortune 500 list. You're making yourself look really bad.

Now we are arguing about where companies are based, what does that have to do with the Panthers kicking the poo out of the Saints Sunday night?

So Monroe and Baton Rouge, where Shaw and CenturyLink are based, are New Orleans?

Both Fortune 500 companies have main operating bases in New Orleans so yes, there are 3 Fortune 500 companies in New Orleans.
