I'm dying to see king get a shot, he was one of my favorite receivers from last years draft.

I agree that he should get a shot. Pie for not only King being one of your favorite receivers from last year's draft, but your member name. That spin-off of ShamWow is very creative.

I came across a Bleacher Report that was discussing young NFL talent that had yet to emerge, and who did the writer, Ryan Riddle (that's got to be a pseudonym, right?), refer to as a "hidden gem"? The Panthers' very own King. Tavarres King.

Look, guys, the Broncos weren't trying to sneak this guy on their roster for no reason. G-man got an opening, and he swooped in there like a vulture and got a prize. King wasn't going to play amid the Broncos star-studded cast of receivers, and time to orient himself at the pro level has probably been a great thing. I'm not saying that he's a go-to guy, but he's probably a guy that can at least develop into a key role player that can dash the hopes of the opposition when they "forget" about him.

I still believe that this former Bulldog has some NFL bite. I fully expect him to make the team and compete for snaps in 2014. Can't wait to see what's in store for him in the future as a Panther.

The Bleacher Report is about as credible as The Onion.

lol they might be closer to the truth than some might want to admit...

Admitting that he was thankful to have such a valuable resource at his disposal, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell revealed Thursday that he continues to carefully consider every single comment posted on the NFL.com message boards.

Goodell told reporters that sitting down for several hours and combing through the roughly 8,000 comments submitted on the website each day has been an integral part of his work routine ever since succeeding Paul Tagliabue in 2006. The commissioner added that the posts regularly provide him with astute commentary on a wide array of league-related topics, all of which he attempts to incorporate into his decision-making process.

“Our fans know what they’re talking about when it comes to the intricacies of football and league management, and as commissioner I would be remiss to ever overlook that,” said Goodell, adding that the official website’s comment sections serve as aggregators of critical input that might otherwise never reach his desk. “For instance, Mark Turner recently made an excellent point about the excessive nature of Mike Tomlin’s fine, which I’m now reevaluating. Likewise, Sean Farnsworth’s remarks had me rethinking the league’s attitude toward protecting quarterbacks, which he believes comes at the cost of aggressive play calling by defenses.”

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
