I still had us at 10+ wins when we were 1-3. Made a $100 bet with a co-worker after game 4. I took 10 wins and the payoff is sweet....he gave me 3 to 1 odds. Made $300 bucks....paid for my div round playoff tix with it.

 

touche...  there aren't too many people who would have actually put money on that.

and I'd do it again after 2 years of the same and an 0-2 start...    5 years of losing games will do that to any reasonable person.  What is actually unreasonable is pretending like anyone actually expected 12-4 at the end of the year lol

 

a few people did, but I didn't really think it'd happen after preseason, lol.  I thought our secondary was too big a liability and our offense wouldn't gel.  Yeaaa.  It's good being wrong.

it's one thing to put money down like Hatter did..  then again, 3-1 odds and $100 isn't all too outrageous..  Still, I doubt very many would have actually laid down money on a bet.

 

However, few people watching this team lose in the same fashion at the start of this year as they have the past 2 years should have thought this team would have turned it around without using some sort of blind homerism.. 

 

at which point, you've just been cheering for mediocrity the last 5 years..

Kinda makes me want to dig up the threads where people were like "we can still make the playoffs just fine" after we went 0-2 only to get heavily ridiculed.

 

Then when we went 1-3, people made those threads as jokes.  After we beat Minnesota, we were all laughing about how we had just inched closer to the playoffs.

 

... Heh.
