Best case scenario is we get Philly in round 2 and Seattle and SF play each other. SF wins and the NFC CG is in charlotte.

I would actually prefer Green Bay over San Fran (that probably isn't likely), but seeing what Chicago did to the Packers defense gives me good vibes.

Maybe...

Divisional

Carolina vs. Philadelphia

Seattle vs. Green Bay

NFC Ship

Carolina vs. Green Bay

I would take that too. We owe GB from way back in '96.

Have you already forgotten that we shut down an athletic, shifty guy in Sproles just one week ago? I don't think we really struggle that much. We had one bad experience with it in a game where we had a bad experience with pretty much everything.

Sproles is not McCoy.

I think pretty highly of McCoy.

I know this D struggles with pass catching RB's and McCoy is a threat out of the back field.

I know we shut down Lynch but there different style backs. Lynch tries to run you over, McCoy heads outside and tries to turn the corner lots.

After today I never want to doubt this D. They won that game straight up. But I worry about a guy as athletic and shifty as McCoy that's pretty much it.

Understandable, if he gets outside he is hard to catch.

Luckily we have a linebacker who is very good from sideline to sideline and two defensive ends that tend to contain rather than chase. McCoy will get his, it's just about limiting him.

Yeah, me too, but he is human. Dallas showed what to do. Get to him quickly when he gets those swing passes, don't let him get speed built up, and he's a non-factor in the pass game. As long as our run D holds up and we tackle, we'll be fine. Really. If Dallas could take him out of it as much as they did (he still got his, but our D is FAR superior to the Cowboys), then we should be able to get similar, if not better, results.

Yeah as the game went on, I began to be more and more comfortable with facing Philly.

Mainly because that DL was getting constant pressure on Foles. If we could do the same (which we should be able to) it could be a long day for Foles. I'd have to think Philly would game plan to run alot of quick slants and screens and all that fun stuff.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Vikings bring back a familiar face Vikings get: WR Adam Thielen Panthers get: 2026 sixth-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick A reunion between Thielen and his former team seems too easy. The Vikings are struggling with injuries at wide receiver and a potential Jordan Addison suspension. The Panthers want to see what they have with their younger wideouts, and Hunter Renfrow's emergence in camp as a potential fourth or fifth option could squeeze a roster spot for Thielen, who doesn't play special teams. The problem is Thielen's $6.25 million base salary. The Vikings obviously would prefer the Panthers cut the 34-year-old and pick him up for free, but Carolina already paid Thielen a $1.5 million roster bonus earlier in the offseason, suggesting it expected to have him. His salary isn't yet guaranteed, but it will become so if he's on the roster in Week 1, leaving the Panthers until then to make a decision. If he does get released, he isn't likely to get anything close to $6.25 million from another team, so he also is facing some uncertainty. All sides involved probably would need to give a bit to make a mutually advantageous deal work. The Panthers would eat $1.5 million of Thielen's contract, getting two of the three picks the Vikings got from the Jets in the Harrison Phillips trade in return. Thielen would take a $1 million pay cut in return for having the remaining $3.8 million guaranteed. The Vikings cleared out almost exactly that much when they made the Phillips trade, allowing them to absorb what's left of Thielen's contract as part of the deal. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46053274/nfl-preseason-trades-2025-team-offers-players-draft-picks-contracts
    • From JoeBucsFan. Teams don't usually waste 2nd round picks like that. Kind of sounds like they think he just doesn't belong in the NFL.
