you had a knee jerk reaction, and didnt understand the reasoning behind it. but others here were informed of the reasoning, and still objected to it rather vigorously. what if that was your kid that had died of cancer? what if you had a kid with cancer. this had been planned for months. get over it, it will have no bearing on the outcome of the game, and im pretty sure they didnt do it to root for the 49ers, even subliminally.

i see on these boards all the time people making fun of or criticizing other fan bases. what would you say about a fan base that was mad at a tribute for a 9 year old boy that lost his fight to cancer? get over yourselves... seriously.

I don't think anyone has an objection to it now that they know the reason behind it.  And yes....that picture looks red and gold.  And yes....Wells is based in SF.  So you can call my reaction whatever you want to call it, but without knowing the reasoning behind it what else would anyone think?  I think whoever does the PR for that tower needs to check themselves because it seems to me that there were far more uninformed people than those who were.

No one is bashing a kid with cancer or being insensitive here.  No reason for you to take it there.

you need to re-read my post you just quoted riot. i gave you a pass. its the tards in here still saying the tribute should of been changed that im talking to.

Gotcha.....

Let's all just walk away from this one.  It was a mistake.  Let's not make more of them before our awesome weekend.

BTW....If I see someone wearing red tomorrow I am going to assume they're a 9ers fan.  I hope I don't look as foolish as I do in this thread.

I'm out....

Just curious...and I'm not trying to split hairs here..but how do you know that the building that represents a bank based in SF has been planning to promote this Cookies4Kids thing since November?

Would love to see what would have happened if they pulled this stunt on Saturday night

His memorial service was yesterday.

Its Orange, not 49ers

who cares what the colors ment, you know what they were for.

i hate to break it to you, but that building puts on light shows all the time. i see them every bobcats game i go to. if you want to sit there with a camera and take pictures, im sure you can come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories.

https://twitter.com/Cookies4kids

there are plenty of pics there. some look orange, some look red, all were taken with shitty cameras.

I was referring to the memorial service.

But Seriously WTF if was planned 3 weeks ago, what do you think is gonna happen, the DUKE ENERGY CENTER is going to call the cancer foundation and say

"Hey sorry but we have to cancel the cancer awareness thing in conjunction with this 8 year old boys memorial service, you see the team that we are playing 3 days from now has a color in it's helmets that some people may get confused with the orange of your deceased childs favorite color and we don't want to piss off any Panthers internet boards."

"No maam, I understand, we are not playing the Denver Broncos. We are playing the 49ers. Yes maam, I realize that it would take either a color blind man or an utter moron to think that Clemson Orange is like 49ers red. Or gold, I'm not really sure which one we are talking about. But anyways, we hear he liked the Panthers so at least he gets his second choice, right?"

"Hello?"
